Omega De Ville 111.096: I think I got a redial. Help!

I wonder if anyone has been here before but this is me, first dipping my toe into the pool of vintage Omega.

Two weeks ago I wandered to the downtown core thanks to work and stopped by a reputable watch repair shop. There, a tonneau cased, black dialed Omega De Ville from the 1960s caught my eyes. Oh, it's circa my mother's birthyear too. After a few back and forth, I bought the watch.

Then, upon trying to find more info on this particular model, I couldn't find any. Case back says ref 111.096. So I looked up, only a handful of images returned and all are white, silver dials. I got suspicious so decided to watch some educational video on how to spot a redial.

The 111.096 refs that I found online:
https://item.rakuten.co.jp/berich0112/mk402/
https://www.barnebys.com/auctions/lot/omega-de-ville-111-096-unisex-1980-1989-PE_tNRyCX

Period correct De Ville's Omega logo and "De Ville" print font example:

So, 3 things stick out:

1/ The OMEGA font on mine doens't match that from the same era. Notice the "M", "G", "A". If anything, mine looks modern
2/ The "De Ville" print, why is mine printed "De Ville" while all the De Ville watches from that era when I searched, including the few 111.096 ref I could find, printed "DE VILLE"
3/ Black dials are apparently extremely rare for Omega in 1970 and prior.

Pardon my ignorance, but these seem like red flags to me. So I'm hoping for more insights on this before I pick up the phone and call the shop without sounding like an idiot.

Are you going to update your Canwatchco ad to include your suspicions as well? https://canwatchco.ca/threads/fs-1969-omega-de-ville-tank-tonneau-case-ref-111-086-circa-1969.83453/

I reached out to the mod to delete the sale. I can't do it myself.

I'm new to vintage so this is a genuine question. Not looking to fool anyone. If I really want to sell why post this to sabotage any?

It's just the more I look at the fonts, they don't seem right. I'm hoping to see if I'm not seeing things here before going back to the shop to ask without sounding like an idiot.

The full upper case "DE VILLE" was used on early watches from 1960 to about 1980. "De Ville" was used thereafter.

Thanks. Confirmed what I think. Movement serial is 29,XXX,XXX, points it to 1969 so that's impossible right? Must be a redial.

I'm sure the seller will rectify this, they're reputable but I'm just surprised they missed this.

At least now I know to research before buying vintage. I was just in a really good mood that day.

The hands are mismatched too.
Are they supposed to have the same width and tip? Now that you mentioned it, I'm starting to see something. The hour hand looks shinier, wider.

Yike, might have got a Frankenstein watch. The shop did say this was a consignment, I just hope they stand up to this when I call tomorrow.

Frankly, I’m surprised that Otto Friedl, a reputable watchmaker with decades of history in Vancouver, would have taken this in on consignment, caveat emptor notwithstanding.

May I suggest you visit Time and Gold? Pricey pre-owned offerings, sure, and not that much in the way of vintage, but absolute top drawer service and watchmaking.

To be honest I'm surprised too. I think I was hasty in this because of their name. I bought the seller but didn't work out this time. They agreed to a refund at least.

Thanks all for helping me with this.
