My understanding is that this does not require a service per se, but just a simple alignment will fix this- I have a vintage Grand Seiko that starts to turn before 10 pm but I kind of get a kick out of it and will ask for adjustment next service. And it doesnt really matter it has changed by time you wake up anyway!

I thought i can finess and trick it to realign itself by just moving the hands is some order... if that is the only way, the next time i service my watch i will have that sorted out.

Not sure that anything is really wrong there, as you are moving the hour hand in the video.

If you pull the hands out to the time setting position and turn the hands forward, does the date flip at midnight?

Setting position does not change the date.

Okay, but does the date change at midnight when the watch is running?

No, only around 12:47~1. I don't remember exactly, but 100% not around 12

I would just wait until the watch is serviced to get this corrected.
