·Hi all,
One more watch I need to sell to free up some funds. For sale is an Omega Constellation ref 2852-3 with very tropical gilt dial. This is a true gilt dial with the gold lettering printed in negative against the original black dial paint. The color is now a very even brown with gold tint.
The dial layout is also fairly uncommon with sandwiched lume in the dial markers. The original radium lume is all present and can be seen in the lume photo. The dial looks very nice in outdoor lighting. I was able to get a video uploaded in HD - link below.
The gold cap case is in excellent condition and does not look polished. There are some scratches to the underside of the lugs particularly at the 10 and 5 olock lugs. This was likely from prior strap changing attempts.
The crown is obviously an Omega replacement, but the correct thicker decagonal crowns are still available. I am unsure about the crystal, as I don’t see an etched Omega logo, but the shape and profile are correct. The caseback and medallion are in great condition. “Constellation” and “Waterproof” are still clearly visible.
The cal 505 movement appears very clean but has not been serviced by me. Serial number of 16.2 million would put this in the late 1950s.
The watch will be sold head only, as I am running out of 18mm straps
Video:
I am asking $1500--> $1075 which will include shipping in the USA. International shipping will be at cost (I recommend FedEx or UPS given recent poor performance of government mail services). Returns accepted only if the watch is not as described. I have many references in the Seller Profile section of this forum. Thank you for looking and OF for the space!
