Hello everyone,

I have found a beautiful 168.010, finally one with a black dial.

I'm very careful with black dials, most of the ones on the market are fakes. According to my research, the dial fits, but a short feedback from you would be great 👍.

Best regards, Andreas

I seem to have broken my response above with editing your user name - so I'll delete and try again

You can tell by the lack of responses that members are increasingly wary of pronouncing black dials correct or redial.

The font looks correct throughout.
One decent straight on pic would help in assessing the dial properly.

The only real concern I have is that the dial looks too good but this watch may be a true survivor as the case is in very good condition and it appears to have an original crown too.
(Although the scratched crystal looks to have been replaced)

Another slight niggle is that the lume in the hands has aged as it should but the (uncommon) full lume inserts in the indices are very bright white - you often see this the other way around in Constellations- but that may be a function of the weight/makeup of the lume paste applied in each case.

I realise that you are only asking about the dial but I would like to have seen the rear and internal images too to get a full feel for the watch.

This is one that you are only going to be able to fully assess in hand - and if it proves to be correct you will have yourself a very nice watch.

Hello everyone,

I already have the watch, the seller (whom I don't know, we only spoke once on the phone) simply sent it to me without me having paid for it in advance. I wouldn't have that much confidence... 😀

I'll take some decent photos in daylight later and see if I can open it.

An update will follow in the afternoon.

Thanks for the feedback!

Best regards, Andreas

The pictures aren’t perfect but from what we can see I’d also say the dial appears original.

Furthermore, I like these dials where the lume is inlaid into the markers. In my experience this type is more prone to the lume being preserved in its original colour/state and suffering less deterioration than lume that is applied directly to the dial so the whiteness of the lume isn’t a concern for me.

Here are a few more pictures, again not perfect but a little better. The watch looks really good, in my opinion it is unpolished and all original. According to the feedback so far, the dial is also fine. ☺️

Pity the seconds hand is over the text in the 5th picture but I think you’re good. Looks like a beauty

2 more pictures on the wrist - really a beautiful watch. I once fitted a BoR, which looks really good on the watch. 🥰

All looking good.

-and I will rescind my earlier comment regarding the crystal.
In one of the earlier pics the Omega symbol appeared to be the rounder, wider, modern version but in the latest pics it appears to be the narrower, original style.

Furthermore, I like these dials where the lume is inlaid into the markers. In my experience this type is more prone to the lume being preserved in its original colour/state and suffering less deterioration than lume that is applied directly to the dial so the whiteness of the lume isn’t a concern for me.
The pics that @Shabbaz posted bear this out as they show very white full lume indices inserts too

Nice one, congrats 👍 I'm sure you're honest guy, but the seller passing it before payment makes him way braver than me....😀

My 168.010 says hello (yes, I have fitted a correct BOR since this image 😀 ):

It's really beautiful and the BOR finishes it off perfectly. Congrats!
