Good evening,

for sale here is an 1960s Omega Constellation 168.010 with a heavy, champagne / eggshell patina. I‘m certain it has been worn a lot, but it has also stayed original and was likely taken care of - multiple inscriptions in the case back suggest regular services all the way to the late 90s. As to how the dial turned this color I’m absolutely clueless.

The Watch

Omega Constellation
Reference: 168.010
Movement: cal. 561 automatic, date
Serial: 23896843
Year: 1966
Case: 35mm stainless steel - slightly larger than the regular 34mm Connies from that time.
Dial: depending on the light, eggshell or champagne colored, heavily patinated. SS furniture, applied omega logo.
Strap: Navy leather, brand new. Note that I also have a 19mm 1503/527 BoR for it that can be discussed separately.
Price: 625€

Condition

Dial & Hands: Original dial, heavily patinated. The patina is very even on the whole dial, which makes it attractive in my book. All the writing is fully intact, see close-ups down below. Hands also show degradation, indices are well intact.

Case: Original 35mm stainless steel case, I don’t think it has been polished. Chamfers and edges are sharp, small scratches and signs of wear all around, especially on the lugs, no major damage though and an overall consistent condition.

Crown
: Original Omega crown which I believe is correct for the ref. Omega-logo on the crown clearly visible.

Crystal: Generic crystal in good condition.

Movement: Original cal. 561 automatic in very good shape. Rotor wear and some aging visible, but that’s from before the full service that was performed in 04/2021, the receipt for which will of course be delivered with the watch. It runs accordingly. I don’t have proof of the previous service history but I do consider the inscriptions on the case back authentic, which indicate at least 4 services from the 70s - 90s.

Strap
: Dark navy leather, a 1503/527 BoR possibly also available.

Seller Reviews

Plenty reviews available here, but either my username is too short to use the search function for that or I’m not handling the forum software eloquently enough, which is entirely possible. Anyway:

I’m not normally a patina guy, but that looks like parchment- very pretty. Don’t tell Dinky we just coined the parchment dial.
Nice price for a legendary watch!

Congrats to the seller and buyer! Yes, I like a nice even patina like this, but the more typical spots just look like damage.
