I would use the Omega ones too if I had a parts account, but now Cousins don't sell them the only option for the real McCoy is ebay and prices there are getting insane:

Well, eBay is clearly "not the only option" as you can simply take the watch to a watchmaker with an Omega parts account, and pay a lot less.

Latest bezel with painted groove and then transfered pad printed numbers /indexes.

Made the numbers less "vintage" to match the dial.

If anyone is considering using Roger over one of the more familiar bezel guys, namely Aldo and Rene, I can vouch his work.

He has just returned this bezel insert to me in around 5 weeks, and it sat in Swedish customs for 3 of those.

Superb comms and and all round great service. Thank you Roger!

165.014 transitional SM300 dated to Jan 16 1964. It also has a double stamp 14755-62/165014-62 caseback.

Thanks to @kox and @speedamatuer for the good advice as always.

@smitty190373 Very nice. Can you share with us how the redone bezel reacts to the UV?

Hi @td69 ... Thank you. A very light green glow but that is more from the torch. It doesn't light up like dial/hands do.

The paint used in the pad print process has lume particles added -but - the pigments of the paint are so small they seem to dampen the lume quite alot. Can try to ad more lume, but afraid this will make the paint to brittle for the "transfer method"! 😀

i would not expect any bezel to glow after all these years anyway..... very well done !

Here is my SM 300 with a Roger bezel. I am very satisfied. I still have to find a proper minute hand and it will be finished.

Have had some questions how i restore bezels where the lip/rim is worn down.

With my method, the only solution is to take a light cut and restore the groove in the bezel.

Latest bezel made with this method.

This one had the outer rim totally worn down from 11-12:00. Strange because it was only worn in that spot!

I have made a chuck adapter (to 5C collets) to be able to take a light cut so the paint/plastic sticks and is protected.

Have no pictures of a raw bezel before making the cut, but here shown with a finished one to show the principle.

Bezel in collet with HSS tool

I hand turn the spindle to take light, light cuts and to be sure the tool never hits the "pip" - removing minimal material but getting a "lip".

Here is the bezel with the new outer "lip" from 11-12.

Loved this thread, and very nearly needing to buy a watch just so I can get a bezel …
