That's true and @mac_omega is not just fluent in both languages but is also a professional translator between these languages aside from being an expert on the book's subject.

Holy Crap!

😲😲😲😲😲 (Yes, 5 WTFs!)

I've only had a chance to look at about twenty pages so far and I'm astounded!
This is no ordinary book!
While I haven't had time to read much, the detail and the photography is amazing, absolutely clear and crisp and easily amplified under a loupe or a magnifier.

Erich has produced a magnificent reference that will be my favourite read for years to come.

I'm glad he stuck to his motto "Never Give Up!", and I think his comment: "Please be graceful when you judge my work: keep in mind that I am an amateur not a professional" is the understatement of the year and reflects his truly modest personality.

For a watch nerd, this book should be on your want list if you haven't already secured a copy.

The only thing I would suggest Erich, make the next book in two volumes. One in German, and the other in English.
It will save on freight costs!

😉

Received the book today after a 3 week journey from Austria. As has already been stated by many and as I suspected from the start - it is a tour de force and a labor of love. And the final word on the subject.

Also, the book is an up close look at the @mac_omega omega museum since the majority of the watches pictured in the book are pieces in Erich's collection! And guaranteed that the breadth and quality of that collection will take your breath away.

I can confirm. With just a relatively short (and beautiful) drive across the Dolomites I was able to pick up the book straight from the author’s hands, so on top of the wonderful and extremely interesting book I also had the pleasure of meeting Erich and the privilege of being able to gaze over a small part of the collection, including some rare examples I’m sure I won’t see in person again.

Not much to add to what everyone else said, if you have the slightest interest in the topic this is the book you want.

Mine arrived in today. I'm in the US.

I predict that this will be the closest to a negative review the book will receive. 😁

Well, one of the two bonus bookmarks fell out into the box when I removed the book, so there is obvious room for improvement...

😁

I just spent the last few minutes flipping through the book -- it is very, very well done. The fact that it is the work of a single person is amazing.

Got mine today and I am in California. I opened it and in the beginning only saw German. Before I even utter a sound, I noticed the side by side English. 😀. Wow. Great book. I know how I am going to spend time this coming weekend.

Got my copy last week, and only up to page 85 so far.

It's a pain having to put my eyeballs back in place every other page or so.
