omega Automatic geneve...how can I tell if its genuine

    Hi, looking to find out if this is a genuine? Can t see many with numbers on the face.....also I can't get the back open....any help would be appreciated, thanks

    It’s genuine but it’s a franken.

    The case is a genuine first generation Geneve case, but the dial is a later second generation dial. The two don’t go together

    I assume the original dial was damaged, perhaps due to moisture, and a watchmaker replaced the dial with the current (at the time) Geneve dial.

    Just worth parts value, which is maybe £200 if the case is gold capped. However, it looks like it may be solid gold. If so, it’s worth the gold value. Check between the lugs and/or inside the case back to see if there are any stamps or hallmarks confirming gold cap or solid

    Look for a small opening on the edge of the caseback and carefully insert a small knife.
