Hi,

after joining this forum I have been looking for a dress watch as I mostly only have chronographs.Last week I finally bought an gold capped Omega Seamaster.
Since I already own an 1963 gold capped Seamaster chrono and like the design of it I was looking for something similar.
After loosing out on a few auctions and getting the feel for prices I came across something new for me. A Seamaster with Chronometer Certification on the dial.
I thought it looked good in the pictures:

After some research this could be a CD 168022 from 1966 -1969 ? with Onyx (& gold markers ?) on the dials. It also has non lume hands (of gold ?) and they should be original as it is missing the tritium T:s from the dial. It also fit in with the description of a Cal. 564 inside.
The watch finally arrived today and here are some shots of it:

Sorry, lots of pictures and none of the movement. I will take those as soon as I get my watchmaker to open it.

Now I am politely asking for the forums great knowledge;

How does the watch look from these pictures ?

I don`t think it is a redial, but I can`t find the Omega logo on the crystal ? Should there be one ?
The watch works fine and the date moves by pulling the knob all the way out one day at a time.
It needs an new wristband (19 mm) and an original Omega clasp. What type of band should it have originally ?
The watch is supposedly serviced, but my watchmaker will off course check it.

Anything else I should think of ?

Thank you in advance,

Vulffi

A very well preserved example!
Case back may have been polished... but hey, the rest is top notch 👍

Here's one another site, though OP has a more pristine case.

I guess it was a little bit risky with no pictures of the movement, but the other pictures looked so good to me and I have always bought watches that appeal to me esthetically 😀 and can be used in every day life without beeing to cautious.

Hi looking through your posts and noticed your watch. I’m looking at an identical watch and would like to know any information. Does it work fine? Trying to find a price guide. USD

Great watch. I owned the solid gold version. Mine had some problems with the rotor being loose and rubbing the inside of the caseback slightly. Supposedly a problem caliber 564 problem.

Awesome looking watch, Congratulations on finding it! I'd find a good watch maker to take it to and find out if that rotor is still rubbing or if it has already been fixed

A picture is worth 1,000 words:

On some 1970’s crystals, the symbol is very faint. I’m not sure why, I just know it happens.

Still works fine 😀. No problems at all. If I remember correct the price back then was below 1000 e + service, but remember that my watch is the goldcapped version.
