Thanks. Yes. And worth it I think. It’s nicer than I was expecting and nice to get it in between Christmas and new year when off work!

Thank you - yes, I like it more than I thought I would in the pics. Am going to try the cork strap this afternoon.

I know it’s expensive, but I think it’s a real step up on the other speedies I have owned (Apollo 8 aside). It’s a really classy watch and one I’m looking forward to wearing a lot.

It would seem that there are still quite a few people still waiting for theres, in the run up to the end of the year.
This is contrary to what Omega wanted to achieve, as I am sure they wanted them all delivered by now.
They have failed again in their deliveries, but on the bright side, it's not as bad as the 1948 Seamaster fiasco.

No idea how many still outstanding but a lot have been delivered so far, so not a complete miss. I'd give them a solid 'B' grade.

I would give them at most D but only for their operations / logistics. The watch is perfect, no doubts here. why I think they have to improve a lot? They could plan it way in advance (they had 50 years for that) to make sure everybody will receive their piece in a year of anniversary, not after it. If they wanted to spoil their valued customers, they could even think of producing them well in advance of July 20th and invite all the people that ordered it to a special event with Apollo astronauts and hand them over there. My criticism is not to complain but to push them to improve, that’s my favorite brand of all, so I would like to see it over performing.

A couple of Xmas shots of my Gold that arrived in December! Super happy with this watch. It’s the best watch I’ve owned for sure!

That is one solid gold watch I would wear. Enjoy in good health.

You can dream if you wish, but it won't happen. The watch was planned well in advance, there is no disputing that. They didn't wake up on Jan 1, 2019 and realize they had a significant anniversary in July. No one knows how many watches are yet to be delivered, pure conjecture on everyone's part. A big party on July 20th sounds great but completely impractical and horrendously difficult to organize, ain't ever going to happen. Very few people are going to get on an airplane (at their own cost) and fly somewhere in order to have a photo op with an aging astronaut to get their $10k watch. Dreams are fun, but we live in reality.

It’s not my dream, so that you know 😉 and I know it won’t happen because July 20th passed, didn’t it? 😀

Maybe the poobahs at Omega will take your thoughts and perform better, they have until mid-April 2020 to get it all done to @orlis standards for Apollo 13. Get ready to jump on an airplane in the spring and fly to TX or FL.

flying to the event is not a problem for many people. Look at the speedytuesday events.
I don’t understand your slightly hostile approach. Do you really think it so much to ask to deliver all anniversary watches in 365 days period?

I'm not hostile, but just realistic as to what is possible to deliver 6969 watches worldwide. Apollo 11 was unveiled on May 17th and delivery started July 1st, I have full confidence that all watches will be delivered by May 17, 2020 (probably much sooner), so your 365 day criteria is satisfied. As time goes on no one will care that they received their watch in the first few months of 2020. Again, we don't know how many remain to be delivered, perhaps it is smaller than we assume.

I think that’s right. I remember being one of those who said that these would take time to get out (and I was right given my piece came 6 months after the first).

I still suspect there are a lot of these to come, or at least a fair amount.

keep the faith. It’s a fantastic piece and I’m glad I kept mine and didn’t get the hump and request my deposit back! I don’t even mind buzz’s back side so it must be ok....

If you can afford the watch, you can afford to fly to get it. I flew over 5k miles to pick up mine from the OB....

Any problems with your 3861 until now?

Houston - I have a problem with the golden 50th HERE… maybe even interesting here for the SS Version?

Wow, great watch! Congrats! 👍
Your last picture looks as in return you had to buy Mrs. Boony a bag for about the same amount of money as your new watch 😉 😜

Congrats, but very few people are going to do that for a $10k watch. I had the OB send it next day Fedex at their expense, didn't even have to take off my suede slippers. I disagree that if you can afford the watch you can also justify or afford to go on a 5000 mi journey to collect it. Some can, some can't, and most wouldn't.

Hi, i got my 50th for Christmas and I have to say it looks better than in the pics. But there is one thing I absolutely don‘t like: Did you also recognize, that the chronograph second hand and the main minute hand are bent? My Hesalit-speedy from 2018 has flat hands and I like it much more. What do you think?
