Hi all, I recently bought a Watchco Seamaster 300 with the 552 movement and wanted to know what timekeeping expectations I should have? Thanks

Omega officially state that it has a target rate of +9 seconds per day. An average rate of 0/+18 seconds per day, which is an average taken over full wind and 24 hours after full wind. It has a delta (largest rate difference) of 30 seconds at full wind and 40 seconds after 24 hours. It’s tested in 3 positions on a timing machine. Both horizontal positions and crown at 6.

But as has already been pointed out, many factors come into play. Who serviced it, etc.

Next question: serviced with receipt or not serviced ?
No service history, but came with a 2019 insurance appraisal which said that the movement was running within manufacture specifications. The watch seems to be running about 15 seconds slow per day and the seller stated that it keeps good time. I apologize for not giving enough info on my first post.

Thanks for taking the time to explain, I didn’t realize all of the factors.

-15 seconds is not in spec, though.

For a not serviced one, it's ok. Time to service it and get it ready for the next 5 plus years.

Mine runs about +3 per day because that's how my watchmaker adjusted it and that's what my habits contribute.

This is good info but it's slightly out of date and a little lacking in some areas. Here are the updated tolerances from Omega. Program 26 is for the 552 movement.

I fully wound the watch and after 24hrs it was running -6 seconds.

Most people would be happy with that.

It's better for the watch to gain. If you are interested in learning more about time keeping see this video I made.
