Thanks. That was taken right after the vet shaved her leg for an IV. Blown out pupils from the anesthesia.

My Speedmaster 3861 (2022) does this also - an intermittent 'plink' sound once or twice per minute. It's not synchronised with the regular ticking but occurs randomly, off-rhythm. The watch keeps good time.

I have also noticed that when the chronograph is running the movement's ticking is completely regular, but when it is not engaged there is a noticeable variation in tick volume, creating a syncopated rhythm. The intermittent 'plink' occurs in both cases. I am unsure whether this is normal and don't have another Speedy Pro to compare it with, but I mention it in case it might mean something to the more technically-minded folk on this board.

I agree, the quality is more important than the quantity, but it easier to determine if the quality is consistent over a statistically larger sample.

Has anybody put one of these problem children on a Timegrapher to see if the "tink" registers and at what intervals?

Mine sounds like a ticking watch movement. Since no one with any practical knowledge or experience has looked at any of these alleged problem watches, I conclude there is no problem. If there were, at least one of these "many" problem watches would've been sent in for service. At least one. None were, so it's just a noise. If it exists and it really bothers someone, they can have it checked out to determine if there really is a problem and it then may or not be resolved to their satisfaction. They could wear a different watch that doesn't have a 3861 movement and maybe sell this one, or do what it seems that all of these owners have done, ignore it and if they want, solicit, read, and disagree with the opinions of others who also have no idea if it's a problem or not.
