Hi Guys,
Here is my new project for my collection. This time I will start with my own comments and appreciate for your feedbacks and your hints.
Ref 2383-3 (which matches witht he similar ones)

1. Caliber 30t2 :
Caliber is original and in good condition. Blue circle on the caliber picture is the caliber number. But in the red circle I see that it is broken. Does this have a big impact on the movement and time keeping. Is is something that I can ignore? Besides, although I have seen several samples of silver color caliber, generally the color is cupper brown. Is this a sign of a deep repair and polishing the movement? Any comments?

2. Dial:
Although it looks very new, in details its clear that the dial is original and well preserved. Especially 4 and 5 shows the originality of the dial. But the hands look very new to me.

3. Case:
Case back is polished I believe. but midcase, Im not sure. Lugs have some signs but still they are sharp. I see a diference between the two top lugs. I need your comments and feedback especially on the case.

4. Price : He is asking 750USD but open to negotiation. I believe 600usd is a fair price.

Thanks to all in advance
Erkan

I would look for better.

Few dents on the bezel near the crystal and case maybe 5/10 condition wise. Wrong small second hand. Movement is average and running fast. Not sure what the circled blue area is referring to

Missing movement clamp screws

High price for an average watch

Looks all original apart from the second hand to me. Silver tone 30t2 movements are common. I have several myself. They were all like this in the first iterations before they phased over to the copper coloured versions.

For the price I think it is very fair. If it is running the watch is not broken but will need to be serviced.

For a mid to late 1940s watch, you'll be pushed to find anything better for this price, especially if you can get it for $600. The dial alone is worth a $250+ its original and in good condition.

Thanks for the comment. But I stll believe that balance cock is broken although it doesnt have an impact on the timekeeping..
My concern is the case, it doesnt look polished to me but need more experienced eyes.

What makes you think it is broken?

OP, I personally agree that your estimate of the right price is close, considering that it clearly needs to be serviced.

R is half and side looks broken for me. check the picture

We know your opinion as to it being broken. Now, put your mind at rest and take it to an actual watch repair shop for an opinion. But DO NOT tell them you think it is broken! As for their opinion as to the condition of the movement. Please get back to us with your findings.

What made you think it is broken? The part you circled is the regulator and is just pushed all the way over to advance.

As far as condition goes, I don't think it's a bad one. It's certainly in need of a service so you'll want to factor that into the cost. At that price you not be able to find one that's been serviced.

The arm you circled as others have stated is to regulate the balance. Make it more advanced or retarded. the fact it is all e way to one side to keep it within spec tells us all that it now needs a service. I’m sure the amplitude and beat error will show that on a timegrapher.

If it’s all original and the price is good to average then get it and get it serviced. Any reputable watchmaker around will be able to service it.
