OMTOM
·This post is offered for those who are interested in the old ‘Goliath’ pocket watches – a bit big for the typical pocket, but at least for display.
An eBay seller named watchcollector83, who gives his location as Lviv Ukraine, is offering a watch which he describes as being an ‘Antique Omega 8 days Goliath Pocket Watch’:
https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fr...e+Omega+8+days+Goliath+Pocket+Watch.&_sacat=0
The watch shown is an Omega 30’’’ which will date 1906. The seller shows a catalogue extract (which has been copied from a different eBay seller in UK called sixpips1 – a shame he doesn’t give credit, so I’ll do it for him).
Only the very late Omega 30’’’ Goliaths were signed ‘OMEGA’ on the dial – and furthermore with a different font. The Omega on this dial has been added ‘aftermarket’. I am not accusing the seller of this addition – he may not even be aware of this – but it will not be original.
