Omega 2846

Hello everyone, I hope you’re all doing well!
I’d like some help in evaluating a potential purchase. It’s an Omega 2846 SC with a black dial, offered on a local online platform. I can go to see and pick it up in person, but it’s a two-hour drive each way, so I want to assess a couple of issue before jumping into the car. The asking price is 850 euros (about 890 dollars), possibly slightly negotiable, last service 5-6 month ago. Pics are from the listing, along with some extras I asked for, not all are great.

My main concern is the lack of lume on the indexes, whereas there should be some, given the presence on the hands and based on other models I’ve looked at—am I correct about that?
The other point is the plexi that seems not to be original and accentuates the curvature of the dial at the edges, so the “Swiss Made” marking is barely visible.
Of course, I’m very much attracted by the beefy lugs and the good preservation of the black dial (the sort of concentric marks visible in some photos are actually on the plexi and not on the dial).

Any opinions or thoughts would be much appreciated.
Thank you in advance and have a great day!

I'm not a fan of the font in "Seamaster"
Thanks for your reply. Yes, I think you’re right and after the initial excitement, I’m starting to realize there are too many things that aren’t quite right

I think the dial is of the same quality as the buckle, which is fake. Crooked 9, offcenter 3, tick marks under the markers at 5 and 10... also it does not catch the light in the same way as a real gilt dial.

buckle of course is fake, but I missed quite few other red flags here 😕, almost rushed too fast for a black (re)dial.. thank you for the reply!

Damn me, there was even an enlarged picture showing the indexes clearly off-center, and the 12 covering the tick markers. Shame on me:whipped:

Don't be hard on your self 😀 I don't think this one was super easy to spot unless you are experienced. Your gut feeling was right.

Here is one of mine 2846 to compare.
And I can also add that I would not let it go for 850 EUR. That was probably the biggest red flag 😉

Yes, thank you guys! I’ve become completely blind with this one. I missed out another black dial the other day, and I went in full FOMO mode with this one, overlooking things I would normally have noticed if I’d taken more time and less emotional transport.
