Has anyone noticed this year that the quartz bond is skyrocketing in price?
Believe now it's going for way more then it did new

I haven’t noticed it myself in Australia, but it’s most likely has to do with the passing of Sir Sean Connery.

As @omegafanaa mentioned, his passing has brought much attention to the James Bond series.

Although he wore a vintage Sub, I would imagine most people, if not all, associated the James Bond with the humble Omega Seamaster.

Maybe they have risen a little bit I wouldn’t say skyrocketed. Take it. That’s generous for a quartz SMP. Maybe a 2264 might fetch more but not normally the others like the Bond. That would be top money really and personally I’d expect a mint watch with box and papers for that.

Well I met the guy and sadly I couldn't part with it and it still sits on my wrist

I noticed too. A well known seller of used Omega watches on WUS just sold a mint 2541.80 that he listed for US$ 2,375! And I know from experience that he does not negotiate much, so selling price must have been close to asking.

Exactly two years ago they were 800 bucks
Now over 2,000 is the normal
