My biggest complaint with these pieces (very 1st world, mind you!) is how shiny they are. Since they are 316 steel (and not 904) they are quite scratch resistant, which sucks if you want it to look "worn". Some of you may know that my Railmaster was recently treated with a re-casing when I sent it back to Omega due to some damage to the midcase during a recent service. (see here if interested: https://omegaforums.net/threads/ma’am-can-i-please-have-a-different-table.89929/page-5) and so I'm starting all over with a brand new shiny bezel, mid-case (and even caseback) even though my bracelet was not polished (as I requested). I thought about lightly air-abrading the lug tops with my micro-etcher, but out of respect for the original design, I'm holding off. I've vowed to wear it exclusively for the next year or so to collect scuffs and micro scratches to lower the "bling factor".
Would anyone like to post photos of their Trilogy pieces with some shine-buster "character"???

Gratuitous photo of the Seamaster 300 trilogy.

For me wears much better than my now-departed Seamaster Master Coaxial, which sat up very high and just felt huge.

I just sold my 300 Master Coaxial and hope to do the same as you with the trilogy version. I tried it on at the boutique, and for my wrist size, it felt more comfortable. Under regular light, does it look less shinny than it does at the boutique?

I don’t know we’re your located. But, I’ve seen over a dozen throughout the US. I finally threw in the white towel and acquired mine last August! You should have no problem getting one!

Definitely tones down under normal lighting conditions.

My Omega Boutique in Bern, Switzerland, just told me there was no chance at all getting a '57 Trilogy Railmaster (or '57 Trilogy Speedmaster...) 🙁
Which OB's (in or near Switzerland) still have Railmasters?

You can buy the railmaster on the omega uk website. Failing that, at least 2 of the London boutiques have them on display. Not particularly close but you can get a flight pretty cheap....

I believe the Trilogy Speedy is sold out at both OBs and ADs throughout the world. I can't speak for Switzerland or Europe. But, during my travels throughout the U.S., I continue to see the Trilogy Railmaster and Seamaster 300 in OBs and ADs. I believe the Trilogy Railmaster is a realistic objective you can achieve with some tenacity.

Have you considered pre-owned? There are PLENTY on the 2nd hand market with very attractive prices!

There's a few around, I know that the AD local to me has a unworn Speedmaster watch that a customer has asked them to try to sell on their behalf £4900 iirc.

I concur, based on my admittedly limited experience with the trilogy Speedmaster and Seamaster. While I think each will only look better over time with normal wear to the case, lugs and (especially, in my opinion, in the instance of the Speedmaster) bezel, the shine is manageable. I’ve put each of mine on leather, I find this helps a lot (even though I think the Seamaster in particular looks great on its bracelet). I will try the Speedmaster on a forstner bracelet once it arrives. In the meantime, i’ve got it on a two stitch strap which I am quite fond of (the Seamaster is on the omega leather strap that came with it).

Here are a few recent pics I took of each in Toronto light

Just picked this up today! Don't know why I waited so long. Any recommendations for good quality 19mm leather straps appreciated.

There should be a strap in the bundle!
Yes, I've got that. Just wondering what other options there are.

What's wrong with the steel bracelet that it comes on? Nice looking, good quality, adjustable, too.

Um, nothing. I just like to switch it up. One of the reasons I love the Speedmaster is that it looks good on so many different options.

Quite. Why shouldn’t you change. Go for your life mate. Personally I enjoyed the strap it came with...

Hey, no problem. But I'm always amused at the need to immediately remove the bracelet and put on a leather or textile strap.

Personally, I think the speedy looks better on leather as it’s too much metal with the metal bezel so it looks washed out and grey. The Seamaster looks just fine on the bracelet.

One of the reasons I sold it. Personally I prefer colours and contrast. All subjective however....
