The watch is a masterpiece.

One thing I don't think I've seen discussed here is the resale value of single trilogy watches. Assuming not every trilogy owner plans to keep all 3 pieces stored away in a safe somewhere, it's likely that some watches will be lost or at least damaged. Or that people eventually realise they really only like one or two of the models and want to make room for other purchases. How would the price of a single /557 watch compare to the /3557 version? This will be a fun little corner of the market to watch over the years (decades?) to come.

It will be tough to sell a single Trilogy Set piece separately as it doesn’t have a box of its own (the Trilogy Set comes in a single box). For sure, the indivually sold piece with box, bag, springbar tool and papers will command a higher premium than the one that is orphaned.

By the way, can owners of the Trilogy Set share if each piece has papers?

For a 2017 review to me Omega have been the only brand who has really looked after their WIS fans. I cannot think of any other brand over the last ten years which has put out this amount of impressive WIS product in the space of 12 months.
Yes it has made me overstretch my not deep pockets (OK the kids are still getting fed.....)
Do I regret it - emphatically No.
Omega as a marketing machine is a pass - there have been too many false dawns, missed promises, unconvincing waiting lists....
My god we should all hate them but given what Heuer did to the 2017 Autavia maybe they deserve our justified love

Heuer did nothing to the Autavia. Heuer is dead.

TAG did that.

I recently saw the Autavia Jack Heuer 85th LE at Houston / Galleria Boutique (sorry for the poor cell phone pic below next to my BLNR)...still too thick, chronograph pushers looked cheap and BOR bracelet looked so shiny the BLNR looked subdued and restrained next to it.😉

Great post!!!👍 We do give Omega stick for some of their faux pas marketing and product development moves...but I agree they really have given so much in 2017 for the WIS crowd. Great shot and congratulations on your personal 2017 tri-omega slam dunk!!

Moving back on topic and away from thread drift...I might be getting the Railmaster LE in Jan 2018...can't think of anything that Basel 2019 might bring with updates to the Seamaster range (1948 re-edition, new SM300 diver etc.) that would trump the appeal of the 2017 Railmaster LE.

@Longbow and @Theognosis have been Greek sirens on the OF posting gorgeous Railmaster photos all the time. I am starting to reach the conclusion that I am young enough to purchase one and carry off the vintage vibe😁

My wife was very angry because 30 minute before midnight I decided I have to change from a strap and wear my beloved Railmaster on its bracelet. It took me some minutes where she wanted me dancing …😎

But it was worth the effort and the wrangle. The RMLE is made for this beautiful bracelet and what could be a better start into 2018 than this beautiful watch on your wrist when Big Ben calls.

My understanding is that "Trilogy" is on the face of each piece. I don't see that on your photo. Am I misinformed?

Correct, which is why I said the picture is of MY own Trilogy of Omega 60th Anniversary LE. I personally appreciate the dials without the Trilogy writing .

2018 and I had to move back to the bracelet.

I guess I saw that coming (but I gave it 2 weeks). Once you get used to the bracelet, you can’t have it any other way. 😁 😁 😁

Was it so predictable? 😎

They do have separate cards, the booklet (certificate) contains all watches.

Are you dancing at home or do you carry a strap/bracelet plus tool at all times?

Well, the pouch that comes with the watch is very convenient for when you're not at home... 😉

Our good friend @munichblue has stored the pouch, tool and that beautiful custom strap inside the safe. No need to carry these things around now that the RMLE is on the bracelet. 😁 😎

Happy 2018 gentlemen!

#28XX with V2 dial if anyone cares...

Thank you for sharing this truly superb closeup of the second version font and a happy 2018 to you! 👍

Meanwhile I guess that about 10% of the Speedy LE dials are like yours. I have recently seen some others here and there.

Considering that, you should truly feel privileged to have your own Limited Edition within the Limited Edition, without having the Limited Edition numbered set of all three watches.

And as long as you don't care, who cares at all? I don't care, since I have learned by this thread that most of us do not really think that the 'G-point' matters in this very special 60th Anniversary context...😉

But still there's no doubt I would ask my dealer to swap the dial if it was my watch... 😁

Enjoy your personal piece of watchmaking history!

I managed to get a speedmaster here in Kuwait (after my anger with Omega subsided lol), and it seems that they are all easy to get here, and priced well too. They have all three models and more than one of each too. The price was US$6300 for the speedy. Here are some pics of mine, with the other new speedy and a seamaster. They had a railmaster too, but I didn't try it on.

Oh, also the sales lady asked me if I wanted one of the 557 box sets, since they were getting some too. I was not convinced of this, but maybe they do get? I heard a long time ago that all those were accounted for. Like others here, I am not impressed with the extra writing on the dials of the trilogy set.

Love the Trilogy and think they are spot on. The one that got lost in this release was the brand new Railmaster (non-LE) which doesn’t seem to get much love!
