Hello,
I am trying to identify my fathers Omega watch. I believe it was issued in 1944, according to the serial number on the back. My father was in the Polish 2nd Corps and was in the battle of Monte Cassino, in May 1944.
Leather watch strap is original.
Any information about its history would be gratefully appreciated.
If any further information is required please let me know.
Thanks in advance
Chris

Hello Chris,
As an Italian I thank your Father for what he did to free my Country from nazism.

Could you open the watch and show us the movement?

It is very stiff and I do not want to force it.
I need to see a jeweller or watchmaker to open it.
Thanks

Definitely go to a watchmaker rather than a jeweller, a lot of staff in jewellery stores have no real idea and do more harm than good
