Omega 1944 18k Rose Gold Jumbo: Repainted Dial Value

Ask price on this watch is $3,000. It is 18k rose gold. I realize the dial is clearly repainted to a non standard color for the time period (1944). Is this a fair price. If not what would be a realistic price as I like the style? Anything else that jumps out to you pleas let me know. This would be my first vintage omega

Melt value plus $100 for the movement.

Looks like a South American case so there isn’t even that much gold.

Yes I was wondering about that case. What does it mean saying Argentina in the case? Does that mean it’s non a genuine/original?

Locally made in Argentina. So the case and dial were shipped from CH to Argentina and cased there.

Anyway: melt plus movement plus a case of beer

But in terms of answering your question, I am not sure what the melt value is, but that asking price seems about 300% too high.

Really a shame what has been done to this because the case and lugs are a cool design.
Now it's the value of the gold and a bit for the movement.. 3000 is a joke.

Search EBay and get an idea of what an original sells for with similar movement, condition and halve that price
