There seems to be an issue with the minute counter hand of the Mexican brother:

And the date wheel on the restored watch should be the rarer German version:
This is the original watch's date wheel:

By the way my watchmaker is already installing a nos German one...

Is it cheaper to do full restoration or just buying used one in good condition? You probably did it out of love, but if its not secret, what was a price of restoration?

You don't start a project like this just to earn eventually some money later on...
Including the dial and the 500.- € I paid for the whole watch, the restoration costed round about 2800.- €.

When i see your restoration story, it tickle me 😀. I have the opportunity to get a watch case for a very good price. But it seem hard to find the dial and the 1045 movment. Are they other parts hard to find?
Thank you.

To find a complete 1045 movement will be a hard nut, mainly because it was also used in the Holy Grail...
The parts are hard to find and got quite expensive, and putting together a movement in buying parts will be rather expensive.
I would have some spare parts I didn' t use for the restoration left, if you will start with the project.
The band as well the Swiss as the Mexican version a very hard to find and quite expensive too.
With a little patience and some luck everything could be found though.

that dial is really a round peg in a square hole!
knowing i had a second one... i might have been even more inclined to keep the original dial to keep the lake history alive... but no doubt you reffort has paid off with a real beauty. congrats!

I still have the original dial, but being it quiet rusty my watch maker told me that it wouldn't be a go
idea to keep it mounted.
By chance I run into a non sunburst dial...

How much did the sunburst dial cost you? I may find one used and refurbished it by a dial painter.
