·I have an Omega 166.068 Seamaster 200m "Banana" for sale. This is a "franken" watch as I know the movement did not start in this case so am stating this up front in order not to deceive anyone. It is all correct Omega parts, obviously.
I bought the original used case and dial some years ago as a project but the watch didn't have a movement so, I bought a cheaper Omega with a damaged case and transferred the calibre 565 movement to this watch - that's the correct calibre for this case.
I serviced the watch a few years ago so, it doesn't need a service for the next few years. During the service, I replaced the crystal and crown plus anything else that was needed and although this is an original Tritium dial, the lume was unattractive as there was some water damage so, the dial and hands were re-lumed by James Hyman (https://www.instagram.com/thealchemistrelumer/). I've opened it now for photos plus checked the performance and it is still lubricated and running correctly.
The watch is attractive and the case is sharp. I enjoyed wearing the watch but it never gets chosen anymore so it seems sensible to move this on.
There are lots of photos below as I am not taking returns on this watch. You can expand these photos to see any flaws and if you need further photos, please ask. All these detail photos are are unprocessed except to crop/reduce the size and if you want the original which is larger, just let me know.
And taken on a slight angle to show the rear engraving.
I'm a watchmaker and have just reviewed this watch. It doesn't need a service at the moment. It's clean, lubricated, running well and everything works correctly. I've shown some details below but can supply more if you ask. Opening the watch shows the inside caseback, which you can tell is a service item from the printing.
The movement is nicely coloured and clean.
A few photos under the microscope - serial number and calibre.
The upper Incabloc has a good quantity of oil as marked with the red arrow (the bright ring):
Here you can probably see there is still oil in the train jewels.
I didn't keep all the packaging from the movement service as I hadn't intended to sell this but there are some packets here, from left to right: mainspring; crown; bezel click.
Performance at 0H (30 minutes after full wind) shows good positional performance over six positions. Here is Dial up and the amplitude is good.
And here, you can see all the other rates are similar in the little boxes at the lower of this one (this picture is showing the 12 High position in the main screen, which is the slowest) so the total positional variation over six positions is 14.7 seconds/day and this is well within Omega specifications.
Performance at 24H (24 hours later) shows a minimum amplitude of 186 degrees and six position variation of 34.0 seconds, again within Omega specifications. The movement does not need a service at the moment. Here is the lowest amplitude position being tested and you can see all the other positions in the little boxes at the lower.
On my auto tester which is designed to simulate wear on the wrist, it is running +8 seconds/day and I'd expect it to run close to that in use, if worn every day. The power reserve was more than 44 hours which is well above the 38 hour Omega requirement.
I'm not taking returns on this watch or offering a warranty. There are lots of photos and you're welcome to ask for more. Payment is by bank transfer to my UK bank account and the watch is in UK with me. I will declare the full value on the customs forms if sent abroad. I'm fairly well known on here and you can see references for me in the reviews section.
The price is £2250 (GBP) including insured postage/insurance in UK. Overseas postage, fully insured with Royal Mail will be an extra £30. Again, in order to avoid a misunderstanding, this is a "franken" watch being all original Omega parts but, the movement didn't start out in this case - if you are unsure what this means or implies, please ask.
I am selling head only but to get you going, I will include the rubber "No Decompression" strap in the first picture.
Thanks for looking, and to the team at OF for this space.
Cheers, Chris
Edit - the watch is now OHPF. Thanks to all who asked about this.
