I would not call myself a Choker, surey not Trump like, LOL 😁

Thats my wrist in an unswallen state, it is lose enough but obviously not digger-lose.

I would prefer not to set it even wider, i can imagine that the spring loaded links could do the job.
Thanks anyways! 👍

Holy cow...then you must have a bad case of the swells! That's full on digger-style by my definition...

.....

So it seem like i should also get the Forstner bracelet as well.. The FB-Flatlink however has only 2 spring loaded links.
Can anyone please tell how are those 2 links on Forstner Bands add to the wearing comfort? ....
..

In my opinion, you would need an extra two spring loaded links (so you'll have four in total) but before you order and pay for an FB Flat-Link, make sure you'll be getting the extra two links you need with your order.

... and btw, you're not alone with this issue.

Just joined the Forstner club - brushed flat link for my 3594. The stretchy links are what sold me vs the Uncle Seiko.

I'm enjoying it so far, but dang resizing it was an operation: those tiny screws were at the limit of my eyesight and dexterity. On the plus side, the ends links were easy to get onto the lugs.

Received my Forstner 19mm brushed/polished yesterday for my CK2998 - just wanted to say thanks to everyone on this thread and @eugeneanderson for the detailed photos & comments. After a prompt from some local friends this was a great thread to read through. Very pleased with the result and the stretch links & build quality are superb.

This is my first ever new bracelet purchase - in fact the only other bracelet I have is a Gay Freres that came with an Eterna Kontiki 20. Good to dip a toe in the water, and seeing the King Seiko earlier in this thread gets me thinking...

Thanks again all.

This article makes a really good case for the original 1039; a more gradual taper all the way along the length and the extra mm where it meets the endlink.

I have the US1035, but I'm really hoping US does a US1039 at some point with that gradual taper and extra mm width. They are at such a great price would be happy to buy both or even pay twice the amount to get something more accurate.

Omega obviously felt it was important to make those small changes from the 1035 to 1039 when they released thr Speedmaster Professional with the 20mm lugs.

I believe they sell 20mm endlinks, and it’s 1 bracelet for all … so the US1035+20mm endlinks will give more taper on a 20mm lug watch than eg a US1035+19mm endlinks on a 19mm lug watch.

Yes I have the 20mm endlinks, but its that step down from 20 to 19 that bugs me a bit.

When Omega transitioned from the Ed White to the Professional, they could have done the same and supplied wider endlinks for the 1035, but they chose to make a new slightly wider version of the bracelet to suit.

I feel like there's room in the market for a bracelet that is only for the Speedmaster Professional. Right now the Forstner especially feels specifically designed for the FOIS with the use on the Professional being a bonus.

Also just love that linear taper of the 1039.

Anyway thanks so much for this article, its really great to see them compared in so much detail.

I might suggest otherwise; I have the Forstner on my WatchCo Seamaster 300 and the taper from the endlinks to the adjustable links seems to be a relatively smooth curve, and curve it is; I tried to align it with a straight-edge and curve it proved to be.

For what it's worth.

Has anyone tried the US 1035 with 18mm endlinks on smaller 50/60 seamasters/railmaster? thanks!

1966 King Seiko KSK 44-9990
Forstner Flat Link
Uncle Seiko 19mm end links
~1.8mm spring bars

Thank you! One year later, still happy with that combination? I have a Seamaster 300 165024/14755 transitional model, for which I'd like to buy the Forstner or the Uncle Seiko.

- Forstner first recommended me the 20mm pre-2021 Speedmaster bracelet. When I told him the lug width was 19mm, he said I can try the FOIS but he hadn't seen clients do it.
- Uncle Seiko recommends the 1035 with hollow end links, as they would be easier to adjust.
- I'd prefer the Forstner for the stretch it brings. But..given that Forstner is delivered with solid end links, I assume i might be best to combine the Forstner FOIS bracelet with US hollow end links?

Any other people that have experiences with wearing it on an early Seamaster 300?

Thanks!

Hi I just got my Ed white with a us flat link on it. I noticed they have us solid end links now but I'm assuming mine is hollow. It fits but it slides left and right between the 19mm lugs and is quite loud. Would getting the solid end links help with this?

I'm about to pull the trigger on a flatlink for my new Seachero ... since Forstner doesn't seem to make an 18mm endlink for theirs, it's off to Uncle Seiko I go. Plus, since it's vintage, a rattly vintage band seems fitting. I'll post pics once I get it in so thank you for the write up even if the post is a little old.

Curious to see how you get on this with this since I'm contemplating doing the same thing for a vintage Seamaster as well. It looks like it's only polished/brushed for the 18mm. It would be cool if there was a beads of rice option as well.
