After a few days wearing this band, I must say that it is extremely well made and would recommend it. A nice alternative to the Komfit JB Mesh which I enjoy wearing in warmer weather.
This US1035 Flat Link has that lovely vintage feel to it and that is something I was looking for.
That faint jingle that occasionally happens is a plus, a kind of reminder of what you have on your wrist.
    Nice job done Uncle Seiko!

ps - looking forward for the 1450.

This is very a useful manual for taking the final decision between these bracelets! Thank you for sharing your experience!

Very good write up. I have a JB and an original for my 65, I prefer the original but, for what it's worth I will use the JB even if it is not as comfortable.

Thanks to this thread, I've decided to buy Forstner end links for my Uncle Seikos.
    Great work.

But after receiving them, I must say that FB endlinks don't fit perfectly with US bracelet. You can see a little gap and even the spring bar through. I wouldn't advise mixing as first option.

Uncle Seiko 20mm flat link on my ‘Watchco’ SM300. I thought it fitted pretty well. 9DB6B6C3-E9E8-4312-82E4-4A1DD1B3B7D6.jpeg

What do you guys recommend for a FOIS? All brushed or brushed/polished? Anyone have pics?

I’m going with the Forstner. The solid end-link and the stretch links are a big plus to me.

    Thanks!

Because of the polished lugs on the FOIS you will want the Brushed/Polished version.

I have been enjoying my US flatlink on my FOIS for some time now. I like the look very much. However i have the same problem, like with any other bracelets, that my wrists swell a lot during the day, and the bracelet can get uncomfortable.

Las week i had a chance to try the original CK2998-5 on original omega bracelet and realised that it had quite a few spring loaded links, which i can imagine would improve my problem a lot. If they didnt cost an arm and leg i would probably try to get one..

So it seem like i should also get the Forstner bracelet as well.. The FB-Flatlink however has only 2 spring loaded links.
Can anyone please tell how are those 2 links on Forstner Bands add to the wearing comfort? how do they compare in comfort to the original omega strap?
    thanks!

I think the solution is to rather wear it like a 'digger' as opposed to a 'choker' ;)

I find that they are quite comfortable. If you want extra flex links, I don't see why you couldn't buy them, though they would be special order. I wouldn't mind having a couple more.

I have never touched an Omega bracelet (not at those prices!) and likely never will, so I can't comment on that.

I've tinkered with several, without scratches and damage etc. Super easy (especially once one grasps the toothpick trick).

I would not call myself a Choker, surey not Trump like, LOL :D

Thats my wrist in an unswallen state, it is lose enough but obviously not digger-lose.

I would prefer not to set it even wider, i can imagine that the spring loaded links could do the job.
    Thanks anyways!
