Yeah, it’s very much hereditary as I’ve come to understand. A close friend of mine’s father died at 45 of a major heart attack. My friend is a marathon cyclist, rides a century every weekend, has less than 10% body fat, and has been on statins since age 25 with a cholesterol over 250. He just keeps close watch and is vigilant about regular check-ups.

Whereas when I was at 350lbs and completely sedentary my total cholesterol was 145, but my wife and her mom both have elevated cholesterol over 200 - and both are maybe 130 lbs and 5' 8".

For the Aussies
R M WIlliams boots
both pic,s stolen from web but have a 23yo pair with a few re-soles and a 3 year old pair for travel.
R M WIlliams is now owned by LVMH - one day you'll be able to buy an Hublot watch with your RM's - it might even be an Hublot LE with RM Williams leather dial.

By the time the newer pair wear out I will be wearing slippers most days 😉

For over ten years. I never got a better shave in my life. 👍
Way fewer cuts than modern cartridge drivel.

The only shave worth a darn I got before a safety razor was the disposables with the Wilkinson Sword brand made in England. Don't know if they're made in England any more and because the Personna and Parker blades are so good, I guess I don't really care.

But the cream, oh boy, what a difference. I thought Cremo was good but then I tried Speick from Germany (I buy it on Amazon) and holy smokes is that nice stuff!

How about a Gibson J45 and a straight-braced Martin D-28? These classic designs pre-date the Omega Speedmaster by a couple decades and, for the most part, they still make ‘em like they used to.

Edit: I don’t buy this, I didn’t read the thread title correctly 🤔, I just like the word smut 👍
Smut is a delicacy in South America.

( it’s a fungus that grows on corn)

I have a Wilkinson Sword branded pocket knife. Traded a nephew out of it.
Sharp as a scalpel from the factory.
I've had it for thirty years and only touched up the edge twice. And yes I've shaved with it once just to see if I could.
I have a 50+ yr old Sheffield pen knife with blade so hard I've whittled steel bolts with it.

Another vote for RM boots, but I prefer the Baxters, better quality leather and better fit.
