Hey, it's Texas. Old timey rifles, in this case a 19th century Winchester Model 1873 with its obsolete ammunition, in this case .38-40 Winchester (previously known as .38 WCF) on a fun outing at the local club range.
Lovin' your Winchester 1873. I'll bet it still shoots like it should 馃榾

Yep, it'll still deliver.

That five-shot group seen on the target being held down by pocketknife, Speedmaster, cartridge cases, and ammunition was shot in a stiff gusty breeze at 100 yards from off the bench rest. No aperture sights, no scope. Just original equipment open sights.

Both rifle and shooter were in a "shootin' humor" that day.

Old time movies are big fun too.

Oh yeah. Can do me some Vienna Sausage.

Carried a couple of cans to Vienna Austria a few years back. I think it was the only Vienna Sausage in Austria. Our Austrian friends had never heard of it and took a dim view of it when compared to the various sausages available to them.

Standard issue USAF Randolph Engineering sunglasses. Have been wearing them for 25 years (and the case is just as old and gets used daily).

Standard issue Maryland seasoning- been also using for 25 years. Can鈥檛 eat crabs without it.

I like old Montblanc fountain pens and got this tiny old pen recently, it麓s a Montblanc no.0 lever filler, from the twenties.
Only 7,2 centimeters long with the cap on, so it麓s allmost too small to write with (for me anyway).

I've eaten my share of canned meat (Spam, Tom Piper Corrned Beef etc) when I was a young single man, but NEVER had the pleasure of canned sausages (didn't even know they existed..

I'll have to track some down and try them out.

In the meantime, I'll order some of this so I'm ready for the after effects.

Watch out Jiminoz.

They're laden with sodium. Don't have a can on hand to verify, but think a can is a serving and has something like 1100 grams of sodium. It's enough to stroke a person out. Well, at least someone like me who is limited to 1500 grams of sodium per day, is on three hypertension meds, and has a family history on my mother's side of "going for the gold" of the highest pinnacle of blood pressure readings.

Have to limit consumption of good ol' Vienna Sausages these days. I love the finest foods, but also love canned meat products of all kinds.

Old Bay seasoning. We like it and use it. Again, sodium's an issue so limit its consumption these days.

Watching sodium's a bummer. And to think I never made use of the salt shaker all my life.

Yeah, it鈥檚 very much hereditary as I鈥檝e come to understand. A close friend of mine鈥檚 father died at 45 of a major heart attack. My friend is a marathon cyclist, rides a century every weekend, has less than 10% body fat, and has been on statins since age 25 with a cholesterol over 250. He just keeps close watch and is vigilant about regular check-ups.
