Snailing on the subdials says original, but indices run into the subdials. I’d suggest redial

Application of lume is like mashed potatoes which is not common in 1970s so I’m inclined to say relumed

it's great to have a bunch of different eyes on these things.

i can stare at hundreds of lines of code forever trying to find the mistake, yet one person can come over and see it immediately

Mine is supposedly original (just for comparison). After a flashlight light it glows for about 2 seconds evenly. The suggestion above from DaveK might be the clue. Looking at many before I bought mine, sloppy application of lume was a giveaway on many that had been relumed.

Voting relume, but not recently. To check, have the seller send you a video of the watch in the dark after he's held a strong flashlight close to the dial for 20-30seconds. If it's a post factory application of tritium paint, it will glow briefly and then fade. If it's a recent application of something that was made to look like tritium, it probably won't glow at all.
