I think you did alright, a 220 bezel in nice condition is always a bonus.

Looks very nice, it'll look ten times better with a new crystal too.

That's lovely.

Not too valuable, so can be worn without worry, but has all the vintage charm.

Very nice.

Yes I agree. very nice 220 bezel. Is it the camera or is the dial starting to turn a nice shade of brown? Lovely, understated, classy looking watch.馃榾

I was looking at too in Yahoo JP auctions. Lucky we didn't fight for the same watch. That was about what I would pay for it too. Cheers 馃榿

Thank You all!!
The watch arrived today and it is beautiful. Perfect dial and hands.

I opened the case and saw a like new movement. And then the schock!

Two numbers have been drilled out - what do You think? I will send the watch back, tomorrow,so sad......

Don't be too hasty, that dial could be pretty valuable.
How much did you pay?
Any better close ups of the movement number?

The watch overall looks nice! Great 220 bezel,

But the drilled out numbers are realy odd, plus the numbers look crude, they should be more refined I think. Could be the angle of the picture, here is a picture of my 145.022 movement before service for comparison.

Also different tones of color on the movement parts could indicate that parts have been changed, they should all be the same color tone.

Cheers, max

The number would be correct for a '69 with 220 bezel, mine is 3059xxxx

Really beautiful patina and pleasing deterioration of the dial paint! I wouldn't return it.馃憤

Maybe this watch was at some point stolen and the thief (or the guy doing the fencing) decided to erase the tracks?

Just a theory, I don't want to bash op's watch (no reason for it, looks stunning apart from bridge with serial on it)

It looks to me like someone drilled the movement number over the existing number or took a newer bridge and drilled the old original number of the replaced part over the existing number.

The drilling looks crude and too deep.

Maybe some of the experts could chime in on this?

I think the non-drilled out serial numbers seem to look a bit wonky because of the angle wherein the photograph was taken.

Could be yes, or resolution of cam + not enough light to catch more details.

Only a better pic of OP can clear this up.
