My two sons & I were strangely mesmerized by the odd cracked plaster bird with carbuncled breast proudly thrust forward, a tree springing from its back, foliage hair from its head, its blind eye resolutely ignoring the weirdly juxtaposed three gold-spray painted pine cones and pin-striped watch in the foreground. Trippy. ::stirthepot::

I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to @Darlinboy for not only this particular contest, but for the warmth and humor he brings to this forum. There are others who stand out as well, but you represent what is so special about this little space on the internet. I've enjoyed my time here over the past year, due to you, Paul, and to others who bring this spirit here. Sentiment brought me to the forum and I appreciate the sentimental win; please express my thanks to your family as well. I can only imagine the warmth and laughter in the @Darlinboy family during the holidays.

I am sure it was a tough decision, some awesome pictures that I wondered how only a couple could be selected.
How about starting the 2017 competition now, we may get the results in time next year...

Thanks so much @Darlinboy for organizing this! These photo contests are so much fun to follow...and even better when you're playing! Cool shots all around, and I learned a lot about Thanksgiving in the process. You really are a great bunch of guys (and the occasional girl 😀).
