60.000 members paying 50 bucks each.... Or if just 10 % paying, that's $300.000. And the content is produced for free by the members.
OF is a great place, I just dont understand why full transparancy aren´t presented as the forum evolves
I will defend transparency and the democracy with my life wearing my Officer 😀
Sorry, there is very limited availability, Sandy got his 2 weeks ago.
My only regret is that I cannot pony up to the 2nd level right now.
See, this is the type of lack of transparency we’re talking about.
The photographed yacht is not the actual OF yacht and is much more pedestrian than the actual mega-yacht unearthed through hours of tax shelter research:
And if you don’t believe me, there’s even proof of the OF mods all photographed together on the ship, displaying their usual amount of overly relaxed and care free anything-goes type of affects:
Is there's something wrong with this? OF is a good idea so I would'nt be upset if the creators would earn a bit of money with it. And I'm quite the socialist. 😁
Just catching up on this thread 😁
I would hope that how we've run the place for the last 10 years or so demonstrates we're not really profit-focused with OF. If we were, then we're terrible at business. We'd like to continue developing the platform and not compromise on the premium hardware/etc that the site runs on.
I'm curious: why would Paypal force the payer to use a credit card when purchasing a membership? Why would a bank transfer (which is typically, if not always backed-up by a CC) not be an option?
I wasn't aware of any restrictions on payment method, we haven't blocked anything specific from our end. I was able to use a bank account during testing too.
Enthusiast forum or a commercial actor like Hoooodinkeee - that´s the question. I will be glad to pay but I like transparency. Nothing strange at all.
