Hi guys, Based on the feedback you’ve given, we’ve made the changes needed to have an ad-free template for members that would like to subscribe in order to support the site and not have to see them while logged in. Based on the feedback we received we’ve added a special username frame for subscribers and two tiers at $50 and $100 USD. We’ve also added the ability to gift a one year subscription to someone else, so anyone wanting to shout a friend or thank another veteran member for helping them with advice can do so. Also in response to feedback this will not have any impact on sales / classifieds access or anything related, so the 200 post rule remains in place unaltered. We’ve tested this as much as we can and will closely monitor it on the backend to ensure that everything is running smoothly but if you have any difficulty or something doesn’t work as expected, send a PM to myself and we’ll go through the logs and resolve it manually if need be. To access hit the new button under your account menu, or follow this link: https://omegaforums.net/account/upgrades Thanks, Ash
Two questions @dsio That’s AUD $ is it....? Would me not subscribing potentially see revenue for the forum more that my $100 subscription for OF considering my frequency here....? (If I can make more money for OF by not subscribing the ads don’t bother me)
Thank you for this @Trev and @dsio. And for the countless other things you do to make OF available to the community.
It works from the Omega Forums side, but shoot us a message if you do since Paypal isn't very sophisticated in managing partial refunds or upgrades.
If you really need to maintain the frames around our avatars, I would rather suggest to have a silver frame for Tier 1 supporters and for example a gold frame for Tier 2, instead of Ω1 and Ω2 titles.
See, I dislike this "superior" way of thinking (I know I am taking this out of context, Alex) and I would much prefer to remain without any badging. Can I just send you some money outside of this scheme?
We're aiming to find the right balance between giving recognition to supporters and awareness of ad-free tiers, but not going too wild with designations and decoration either. We did try with actual titles, then reduced them to"Ω2" style labels, which felt like a decent compromise. Plain colored borders didn't seem as self explanatory.
