Fun fact - if you buy a NATO direct from Omega it comes with four springbars - a pair for the bracelet and a pair for the strap. Also a case and the same springbar changing tool that comes with the watch.

180 dollar spring bars and they throw in a free case, tool and strap.

Yeah - it's steep. But certainly a better deal than $50 for a pair of springbars.

Has anyone received this type of package in Canada? Not sure we enjoy the same range of access online, and when I ordered by Bond NATO strap I had to go through an AD -- and just got the strap in a plastic envelope, no case or accessories.

Is it possible the AD poached the extras?

I ordered directly from the Omega website and this was delivered to the US. I believe it shipped from Swatchgroup parts in New Jersey .
It's certainly nicer than just getting the strap alone .

I'm not sure why, but it clearly states the kit is online only:

Online only: Complimentary NATO strap tool kit included

Even in the UK you have to remind the OB to let you have the case thingy and tool. And the white outer box too.
Not that you ever do anything with it. So, I stuck my 2 on ebay and got £50 each. It does help to make the £125 for the NATO strap a bit better.
Just make sure your OB or AD does not forget to give you the box!

Is there really such a huge quality difference between the official OE Omega spring bar and some eBay special?

Yes
Same with Rolex spring bars vs/ generic, particularly if there are specific bars for specific watches (like the fat bars for the GMT's). And you can feel and see the difference between cheap spring bars and quality ones.
But for watches other than Omega's for instance, what kind of spring bars would one recommend if we wanted quality spring bars? When looking on Ofrei's website, they offer a wide selection of Swiss made spring bars of various sizes, shoulder-less and standard, different thickness etc for around $2.50 ($4 for Rolex style). Are they of the same quality as the OEM spring bars (perhaps the same supplier)? Anyone have any experience with these Swiss made bars?

If an Omega springbar costs only €3,50 at my AD there is no need to even compare pricing on eBay, there would't be much saving for a same/lesser quality one.

Well sure, but some people here in the USA are reporting $50 for a pair, which is like €40.

Regretably people are at the mercy of an AD/OB how much profit the store wants to have on springbars.

No one has a gun to their heads. Shop elsewhere if you're being taken advantage of.

My AD charges me $4ea plus tax and I buy them in the blister packs of 10 each time I am requesting a part number.

I am sorry (I know I shouldn’t be as it’s not my fault) that ADs/OB’s are charging those crazy amounts. However, if those values are including shipping direct to you then it is a bit more understandable considering Omega in the US uses FedEx Express shipping for everything.
