And I don’t agree that it’s good for Omega to have lots of people demanding a watch from 2+ years ago. The world has moved on. I would think they will want to create a buzz and demand for new watches that generate new press cycles and social media buzz. So I think it’s more likely that they pull the plug on the Snoopy in the not-too-distant future than wait until all demand has been fulfilled.

I shake my head every time I see someone say it’s bad for the brand if there’s disgruntled customers who are upset because they can’t easily get the watch . The exact opposite is true, and is true for all luxury goods. This is exactly what Omega wants , and it will long term benefit the brand. I’m sure they want to find a balance where people who put deposits in early, or people with long term history with the brand can likely get a watch … but it wouldn’t serve them well for this to be just sitting in the display case for anyone who just walks into an OB or AD. However, I do agree they probably shouldn’t be holding deposits, but policy on that seems to be all over the place depending on country and whether it’s a dealer or a swatch group owned OB.

It absolutely is bad for the brand to hold deposits for years and not deliver. They lose those customers. We're not talking about having a product you can't buy and only express interest at launch and hope you can get one on a list that requires no money. For those of us that put down money on day 1 (or before like myself), it absolutely tarnishes the brand and causes people to move to others, which I will do if my deposit is refunded.

"Eventually" is missing in your quote.
If you wanted it when that words were pronounced, you should already have it (specially in Europe).
So for me, the truth was told.

You might want to rethink that. In the waiting list since October 6th 2020. Was recently told 6 years.
How does adding "eventually" make it any different? In fact, it makes it even more clear i.e "we will continue to produce it until everyone who wants one eventually gets one"....

I never said it was good for the brand that deposits are held , but there’s no consistency on deposits across different countries and I mostly think it’s independent dealers holding deposits. I was not required to place a deposit.

What I argued is that it’s good for the brand that there is hype and the watch is hard to get. It’s good that not everyone can easily get one. I have long history with Omega , so I got one. However , I can’t buy a Submariner at list price , and Rolex doesn’t seem to be suffering.

I would argue this will not cost Omega customers overall, I think it will gain them customers. It lifts the brand image, increases value retention and resale value of standard pieces like the Speedy pro, and reduces discounts. It’s all good for the brand, and it’s good for owners of the brand.

The difference between what Omega is doing and what Rolex does is Rolex doesn't hold peoples deposits for 2+ years! Omega will lose those loyal customers like myself for lying to me, I have it even written on my receipt I was supposed to take delivery of the Snoppy in Q1 o2 Q2 of 2021.

I was shocked to get the call today that mine had arrived at the Atlanta boutique. I ran down as quickly as I could to snag it and am very pleased with how amazing it is in person. Hopefully those waiting receive their piece soon!

If you had an official standalone OB backed deposit you are more than likely going to get the watch, period. I have absolutely no numbers to base this off of and pulling straight out of thin air, but I'd venture to guess that US unfulfilled orders (w/ deposits) are in the extremely, extremely low 100s at this point. So pretty insubstantial. Didn't we say the entire paid US deposit list from 2+ years ago was around 1000 or less? Too far back to find it.
I hope this is true. I am one of the early depositors and am waiting for mine. It sucks when you continue to see the top secondary market sellers getting them.

Today I had the pleasure of picking up my snoopy after waiting for 28 months. I have been following this thread since inception. I haven’t had any purchase history with the boutique except buying a strap. I think omega is trying to satisfy all early deposits.
I’m gonna stay up late staring at this beauty.
cheers.

It appears Omega is delivering more Snoopys right now, so maybe June '23 as the wrap up date is close to being true. Everybody with a deposit down gets one, those just on a waiting list with no skin in the game get a mea culpa. Or Omega may decide to keep making them on a reduced schedule hoping the rest of the people lose interest over the long haul.

Can you please share your deposit place at your OB at the time of deposit?

Congratulations. Did you have purchase history at the boutique? Also, if you can share your deposit list place when you placed the deposit?

I was in about the mid 20s I believe. I didn't have purchase history at the time I made the deposit, I had added a PO about 6 months later in April of 21.

Thank you. I was in early 40s at my OB. Still looking like 2024 for me.

How did you all get your deposit list place? My OB wouldn't share that information.

My OB was very transparent with me… was in the top 15 (as I was off the grid when the news came out!! 😡)
