Unfortunately that’s not the way it works. Collection and amount of spent money don’t decide when you get the watch. That’s a personal experience. And that’s what makes me desperate. I’m fine to play the game but I love to know rules before start playing it. This game doesn’t have any rules. Unfortunately.

Well, let's just agree it didn't work that way for you, but it apparently has for others. As I said, one can argue the execution of whatever policy is in place, but I still think it's better than a free for all, because the last watches that were done that way left a lot of upset people.

I think we all need to realize that every AD/OB probably does things their own way.. They each get an allocation and can make their own case to Omega for more. How they decide to distribute among their customers is likely entirely up to them, with some guidelines (but not rules) from Omega.

For example, that "2 page bio" mentioned in the last few pages could just be something the manager of that location wants. Sales associates can just lie and say its something Omega wants.

The #1 rule is have boat loads of money. Then you make your own game up and AD’s and boutiques beg you to allow them to play the game with you.

I tend to agree with this. I think the explosion of watch forums and 'zines that cater to them has perhaps fed a kind of "watch-o-cracy" narrative wherein those who know a lot about and love the world of watches have an inside track to that world and its standout creations, and are the target audience for them. The whole story may include that, especially for smaller brands, whose sales are partly or largely driven by enthusiast word of mouth, but if you're running a brand boutique or AD where your running costs are high and ongoing, you need to move product quickly and regularly out the door, and while you may have genuine affection for the enthusiast, you're also selling to the anniversary or grad-gift buyer, or the person who just made bank and wants to advertise that. So as a watch-lover and Omega customer, you may think that you both merit and deserve a Snoopy, but that doesn't mean the vendor should agree.

Omega knows it will sell as many Snoopy Awards as it makes. Rewarding important buyers who have spent a ton and will keep doing so makes for good business. It's frustrating for those of us who aren't in those shoes, but it's a luxury good after all -- t'was always thus.

I think it's fine to want an exclusive product, but it's maybe not so wise to want it too much that you're obsessed with or angry about it. I've been on the list with a deposit since Snoopy Day 2020. I have no idea if that deposit will ever result in the watch -- if it does, fine, If not, I'll put the cash somewhere else. All this hoopla and the regular price hikes (in Canada, at least) from Omega make me unlikely to buy another new one, unless it's a model I absolutely love, but c'est la vie. I'm sure Omega HQ have spent a lot of time studying the watch market and are making their moves accordingly. Here's hoping they don't retreat entirely from what has seemed to me like a pretty important guiding idea: technically advanced and mechanically sound watches at a relatively fair price for what they offer.

Snoopy or not, life is full and varied. Plenty of watches in the global display case.

Well said.

It’s interesting how some people come on here to be so critical of how these are being distributed but the fact is, they created the product and they can choose how and to whom they sell it. None of us are entitled to anything.

And rightfully, omega is not entitled to your money either. If it makes you unhappy, then spend your money elsewhere. Omega has plenty of qualified buyers and more demand than product.

That’s how the market works.

Never understood why just because someone happens to be in the privileged position of being able to purchase 17 watches from the same AD that your ‘VIP-ness ship’ should qualify you ahead of lesser mortals for a Snoopy?

Kind of reminds me of the scene in Titanic where Billy Zane uses his status to blag his way onto one of the few remaining lifeboats in front of the more deserving but in this case those with just one, a few or even no previous purchases. 😒

its pretty obvious because that person is much more likely to spend a lot more over the year on other pieces than a lesser mortal with the snoopy etc as a Thankyou for that

If you been a loyal supporters of your OB, they will support you back in return with snoopy.
Every OBs have their own VVIPS clients to serve, best is to stay loyal at one OB location and support required actions, regular purchases over the years helps.

That's odd. You can pick one up from a forum dealer LNIB/BNIB for not far off from retail.

I can't speak to the OPs local market, but seeing the black panda trade in the US at or just below MSRP+tax. The white is a few hundred higher, but barely.

Just spoke with my AD (Toronto Canada). I check in every few months, they’re still adamant that I’ll get a snoopy. Their current date is the end of the year. Not ideal, but all things considered I’m happy they’re still saying I’m good.

Well, they came through.

For those angry about the profile, my OB manager explained that it is for people with zero or little history with the brand.

For everyone still waiting it’s worth the wait.
