My local Omega Boutique told me recently that I’m “next” for snoopy. The manager said that they are now getting one perhaps every 45 days or so. While they had to take care of brand ambassadors and VVIP’s first I don’t think I am a VIP. Here is my purchase history with this boutique if it helps:

1861 moonwatch
Seamaster 300 master coaxial
CK2998 pulsometer
Apollo 11 50th in steel
No time to die
321 Ed white
Apollo 8 on order

I’ve probably purchased 8 or 9 NATOs as well as 3861 bracelet also

I don’t know how much it helps but the manager has sat down with me and asked me about the rest of my collection, and has seen me wearing both Rolex and AP on several occasions. She mentioned that they have to submit a 2 page profile to omega for each client on the snoopy list. I also paid full deposit last may before the new watch was officially announced.

Here’s hoping snoopy is in the cards for me this month. She couldn’t say for sure when, just that I was “next.”
Congrats, and definitely VIP status… 👍
…may be even V VIP… 😉
…But not yet VVVVIP!! 😁

Two pages or not, I am certainly glad that Omega HQ is taking some steps to ensure that these watches are ending in good homes!!! 👍

They are trying, unfortunately they don’t have the resources to do it in the right way. They are doing what that can with what they have. They don’t use an external service for the tracking of the pieces like other major brands do.

By the looks of SS models for sale on C24 neither does Rolex.

They are not very effective but they have a more structured service, that in good part is externalized.
Same thing for PP.
Omega does it in house basically trying to be creative. They are doing their best, but they are far from perfection 😉

You are not seriously trying to suggest that Rolex or PP are even remotely better than Omega at preventing grey sellers getting a hold on their hot model(s), are you!?
Frankly, given the “success” (or rather, blatant failure) that Rolex and PP have had at weeding out the flippers (but of course, we all know they welcome the current situation), I’d do the same as Omega: save my money and do it myself by leveraging the relationship established between the OB with end customers. 🙄
Neither Rolex nor PP operate their own boutiques (with the exception of the far and between salons), so they have to outsource.

Other than listing previous Omega's purchased NEW from the system what else can they add? He treats his mother well, is kind to animals, helps old people across the street? It just gets silly with some of these brands.
Oh no…now I see why I’m not getting one. Shame on me!

I’m just saying they have objective difficulties and limitations with the control of the references going to flippers. They are having a lot of issues with the Snoopy situation because of this. It’s public knowledge, any boutique director can confirm.
I’m not saying other brands do a better job necessarily, but I’m saying that they have a budget for a dedicated function that usually it’s external.
Omega is doing everything using basically the resources that they already had and keeping everything in house.
That is what is generating some confusion at HQ.
I repeat, this is known, any OB can confirm.

My honest opinion is that a 2 page bio gets me closer to the piece, I will gladly write it for them. I will be on the list till 2022; even if I paid 5k in Feb 2020 and the rest at product launch.
Great for all the people getting it. Enjoy, one day it will be my turn.

Never understood why just because someone happens to be in the privileged position of being able to purchase 17 watches from the same AD that your ‘VIP-ness ship’ should qualify you ahead of lesser mortals for a Snoopy?

Kind of reminds me of the scene in Titanic where Billy Zane uses his status to blag his way onto one of the few remaining lifeboats in front of the more deserving but in this case those with just one, a few or even no previous purchases. 😒

To be honest I don’t mind that people who spent a lot at one AD are privileged to get the Snoopy sooner. What I don’t get is that there are no clear rules and Omega with their ADs play some kind of game. I did spent a lot at my AD, I’m on the list since 7/2019 but there was no piece for end-customers delivered yet. In other countries there were higher tens (maybe hundreds?) delivered and even to customers who spent very little at AD.

All I can do is sitting and waiting for a call.

The person who bought 17 watches is keeping the OB doors open and putting a paycheque in the hands of the employees. Imagine if they told the person who bought 17 watches, “sorry you can’t have a snoopy because we are giving them to more deserving people”. I wouldn’t compare it to life and death. It’s just good business to reward long time clients.

I agree with that and maybe my analogy was a bit OTT. I’m actually genuinely pleased for all on here that manage to get one - apart from those that get them at RRP and flip for a mega profit straightaway. 👍

And I think this is the real reason why they are giving these to people they know are watch collectors, rather than just VIP's by money spend. One can debate the effectiveness and results, but Omega is at least making an effort to get these into the hands of collectors, rather than resellers.

Unfortunately that’s not the way it works. Collection and amount of spent money don’t decide when you get the watch. That’s a personal experience. And that’s what makes me desperate. I’m fine to play the game but I love to know rules before start playing it. This game doesn’t have any rules. Unfortunately.

And don’t get me wrong - I would be fine getting info from OB they won’t sell it to me or I will get it in years because they decided to deliver watches to other customers. In fact they can decide to whom they sell it. I have no right to get the watch. But you don’t get any info from them except you’re on top of the waiting list (#2 in fact) and you should get it soon. Almost year later nothing happened and later we talk, less info they got. That’s so frustrating.

The #1 rule is have boat loads of money. Then you make your own game up and AD’s and boutiques beg you to allow them to play the game with you.
