Paul Thorpe and Spencer Dryer mentioned how some people are getting calls from Omega and having their Snoopy orders canceled. Has anyone heard of this? I wonder if it's from OB's
Video linked below:
They mention it at about 4:30.
That would mean Omega decided that they would be making fewer watches than initially anticipated. Because (in the US at least) orders were confirmed by corporate if you placed through an OB.
Maybe less production in the end...guess we'll have to wait and see. I've had my $5k deposit with my US OB for nearly a year now and was told the same that I am guaranteed one being I have a deposit on the list and confirmed. If they call me and cancel I will promise them I will never buy an Omega watch again. That might seem extreme to some here, but there are plenty of other companies I'm happy to spend money on without having to play games.
The guy does say at the end of that segment the customers are getting calls from "Omega" with cancellation and refunds so sounds like OBs and not ADs.
There was a thread last month about people getting calls about deposits in the UK:

Maybe someone from the UK can confirm but I thought some of the UK OB's are still owned by independent companies while actual US OB's are owned and operated by Omega.
Hoping Canadian OB Snoopy deposits are safe and sound as well.
Did they accept full payment in Canada?

Most people don't know the difference between an AD and an OB so anecdotes from third parties stating that they were contacted by "Omega" shouldn't be taken as containing all the "facts". For me, an OB is a store that's owned and operated by Omega, anything else is an AD even if it's furnished to only sell Omega watches.

Just for your info
Some dedicated omega boutiques in the uk are owned and operated by a third party, mainly Ernest Jones, despite being omega exclusively.
I stopped by the Omega boutique in Tyson's Corner (Virginia, USA) and asked about getting on the waiting list. As expected, the salesperson told me they were not taking any new deposits or adding to the list. The salesperson also told me if I was really interested in the watch my best bet was to get it on the secondary market or wait until the next anniversary edition is released.
