I am also hearing allocation by name from Switzerland. I don’t doubt it. More people on the forum are confirming this than those disputing it. This does not mean it’s entirely spend history based, and it doesn’t mean there aren’t exceptions or perhaps a small quantity allocated to newer customer with less history.
When you say confirming, you actually mean speculating. That’s exactly what the boutique people want to achieve....

It wouldn't surprise me if Omega HQ in Switzerland is allocating to top customers first. Maybe not every single Snoopy is being decided by Omega HQ but I would guess most are. Probably something like a batch of 20 are made for the US market of which 16 were decided by HQ and 4 go to OB's to allocate to local customers. That's just my guess.

Not looking to get into an argument over it, but have you spoke to any Omega OBs lately?
Multiple US buyers have all recently confirmed the same thing, all the same story, directly from OBs.
There is absolutely no reason to lie about it or make stuff up. If a store wants to allocate me at the end, it is up to them. It doesn't sting any worse hearing that vs Switzerland is bumping me to the end.
Likewise, I’m not getting in an argument, and yes, the same boutique I got my 321 from 2 weeks ago.

no mention about being vetted by Switzerland with them. That’s said, it’s still a long long wait. Maybe it’s a US thing then...

It could very well be a US thing, since we are the main country with paid deposits. Very clearly was stated that this year's deliveries are all being managed and allocated with names.

It might be a US thing.
I’ve known the associates at Omega for years, I sincerely trust them. I don’t have any reason to question their words.
I know there is a lot of confusion around allocation, but I’ve heard the same thing from different boutiques in US.

I’m in the UK and am beginning to get a bit concerned. I wasn’t asked for a deposit initially and on 7 October 2020 was informed: “We will be contacting you shortly to ask for you to pay a 10% deposit to secure the watch.
Unfortunately, I cannot confirm any dates on when the watch will arrive in the Boutique, we are thinking early 2021.”

Yeah right! 🙁
@Hoddspur is this OB or AD? I’m also in the UK and didn’t think either asked for deposits here. I wasn’t asked for one for the Snoopy or 321.

Likely both you and @sgrossma are right. It would certainly seem that way based on my experience - but hey, maybe I’m not being told the full sp....

Considering that US was the only market where they allowed the payment in full, I would understand if they have a different system of allocation. Outside US they had partial deposits or lists without deposits.
So maybe that’s why?
I’m not doubting what you are reporting 😉

Likewise - and as you say, that may well be correct. I can tell you that my Ob requires no deposit. My AD a different story but it’s clear there appears to be a regional difference.

Correct. First 10 per OB is VVIP

UK here also however I did pay a small deposit with my AD and expectations were set for delivery towards the end of Q1 2021.

I was excited and nervous when I received a call yesterday. Unfortunately it was the call I've been expecting, not hoping for and it's now delayed for another 6 months, towards the end of Q3 2021... gutted is putting it politely!

The delays are 'apparently' due to COVID-19 and is also impacting the new 3861 Moonwatches. To be fair I can see this would impact production but would have preferred some communication earlier.

It is an OB but owned by Goldsmith’s funnily enough. Having spoken to them subsequently, they have dropped the notion of me paying any sort of deposit as they have no idea if, and when, they will receive any at all and are pointing to 2022 at the earliest if they do. I’m not very hopeful.

Lol guaranteed she’s a big spender. A few other videos on her channel makes it seem so
She has a Snoopy 50, EW 321, and a regular 3861 from Omega and some pretty popular Rolex pieces. She doesn’t get those without a serious purchase history.

Is it a “local shop for local people”?

I'm not sure I understand the question. It's an AD in a small city. "Local" was the reps word when talking about Snoopy sales. Which makes perfect sense. Sure sell your stock online by all means, but if you're getting 1-2 pieces a year don't ship it halfway across the world to some punter on the phone. Sell to faces you recognize. The punter half way across the world has his/her own "local" options.

US wasn't the only. Same in Spain.

Sorry, it was a very obscure reference to a British comedy The League of Gentlemen (not the film) set in the fictional Yorkshire village Royston Vasey. The owner of a store used to get furious with outsiders and say”we’ll have no shouting here, this is a local shop for local people”.

Your ADs comment reminded me of that. But it makes sense to please your local customer base!

US wasn't the only. Same in Spain.
What, really?
In Spain they requested payment in full + sale taxes, like in US?
This is a news!
