I don't really agree with that. Omega is doing a decent job overall. There are very few Snoopy available on the secondary market, of course the numbers of watches delivered are low, but allocating them to historical customers first is somewhat working. If you compare with the new steel sport reference like 124060, the market is already flooded. People already flipped hundreds of them, with 200+ available on C24. It's the current watch market that is encouraging flippers, with high demand and scarcity (real or perceived) that is driving premiums. Omega is trying to allocate the Snoopy to customers. It's not perfect, but it's working way better than the Rolex model.
That can't be true. There are around 160 OBs worldwide. That's less than 400 watches/year. I have no facts to back this up, but I would expect the number to be AT LEAST 2000 per year.
We are 2 to 3 months into deliveries. 2 per month per boutique x 160 boutiques = 3840 watches per year just to the corporate boutiques. I do not know how many AD locations there are, but a local AD told me they get 3 green bezel submariners per year and I expect this will be rarer. It would not surprise me an AD only getting 1 or 2 unless they are really high volume.
I think your estimate is accurate. The first AD I got in touch with told me they expect 3-5 pieces in 2021 (to be optimistic). I reached out to an AD outside US few weeks ago, they told me they hope to receive 2 this year, and they are already allocated to their long time customers. Large OBs expect 2-3 per month, but there is some variability in the rate of delivery. So, the best bet is to stick with OBs and be patient.
My bad. Although my AD said that only OB's were getting them. And since there are no other ADs or OBs near me, that means it'll be a LONG time before I can get my hands on one.
I just spoke to the boutique manager at the Old Bond Street store, London. She confirmed I have been on the list since mid September last year and would likely receive the watch in the next 12 months, although this wasn't confirmed. She said they have received 6 in the last 3-4 months, but this will increase. She also said that anyone joining now will likely have a 4-5 year wait.
Wow Bond Street have already received 6 snoopys this year. They need to send at least one up to Birmingham.
OB's are either not talking or dont have enough info here in India. There reply has been standard since January, " snoopy delivery to begin July " All this wait made me blow the snoopy fund on a sea dweller 43. Here is hoping the delivery gets delayed to August / September . SD says hi !
I’ve only just realised I can mess around trying different straps on omega website. I thought this nato looked quite cool.
Yeah your right I think the Leeds United strap looks better. I’m cutting snoopy out and having Patrick Bamford flying to the moon and obviously Bielsa on the 9 sub dial
I like this one a lot. It turns out that almost all of the Omega NATOs look pretty good with this watch. However, you can't see the caseback with a NATO
Not a fan of NATO straps so this is my solution, two-piece nasa velcro strap for snoopy, one-piece for A11 50SS
gasgasbones.com, both are SPV1 but it normally is a 1-piece, so you need to request in the remarks to get it as a 2 piece. Length without the bit that goes underneath the caseback needs to be taken into account.
I’ve been all over this thread since the start and joined the wait list when the watch was released. I didn’t think I would get the call until much later this year but the watch arrived today and I have to say it’s spectacular. I saw one at OB in December so I knew it was good but I’d forgotten just how good. Even the best photos don’t do this watch justice but here’s a rushed wrist shot showing the dial in white light:
