I emailed my AD again recently on if they had heard anything further as I'm on their provisional list...

They mentioned she has queried the rep on a couple of occasions but he's being VERY tight lipped.

No idea what an Aurum Anniversary is but in the UK a 50th is a Golden event, so expecting a smattering of gold in the watch.

Let me get this straight, people are putting deposits down on a watch that they have no clue what it's going to look like and don't know if it will even exist...correct?

I've looked at the other snoopy editions, and, yes, I will admit, the Silver Snoopy white dial is a great looking unique timepiece. I am a big Peanuts fan too. I would have paid retail when it was released if I was lucky enough to have it offered, but, the prices today are a little crazy. But then again, beauty is always in the eye of the beholder and a watch is worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

Correct.

Like the ST1, ST2, A11 etc. to for a chance in owning one.

Some may have had a deposit on an Apollo 13 50th without seeing/knowing and transferred when it didn't materialise.

At the end of the day it's demand vs. suspected supply... fortunately I'm the UK and we don't need to place a deposit.

If I get the call and it doesn't sing to me, I can pass.

Aurum is the latin word for gold 😉

And there is the problem, there are plenty of people out there willing to pay just about anything to own a watch that is made in low numbers, it doesn't matter whether it is a limited edition or a regular watch just made in low numbers, as a result sellers keep adding a bit more to see what they can get away with and those with money keep paying up, and round and round we go.

I just wish there was a way to keep the speculators and flippers out of the equation, and sell the watches to those who only want to own not profit. But, that's a fantasy.

Same here... I think at the end of the day, flippers will do anything possible to obtain a limited/high demand piece.

A reminder that MOST omegas do not shoot up in value. The last 2 snoopys have so this one may be likely to get there... But you just never know...

Surprisingly, a lot of the recent LE Speedmasters are doing okay on the 2nd hand market. The Snoopy, ST1, ST2, CK2998 blue, CK2998 panda, Hodinkee, and the A11 50a are all close to or above MSRP.

The LE seamasters OTOH aren’t doing as well on the 2nd hand market with the exception of the Spectre Seamaster that’s trading above MSRP. I can’t really think of any others doing too well.

...and Apollo 13 25th, Gemini 4, Japan Racing, Mitsukoshi, Tintin, Apollo-Soyuz Meteorite, Apollo 11 20th, 11 25th, 11 35th Panda, 11 45th Titanium, and most recently some Tokyo Olympics... all above their MSRPs, some more than double.
