Yep, and the people that have supported the brand for years, love and wear Speedmasters regardless of whether they lose 30% value after leaving the boutique will get their snoopy , I see it as a good thing if it elevates Omega.

Are the current Seamasters holding value more than 30% out of curiosity?

it seems that the no time to die, titanium/titanium is doing fairly well in holding value... so far.

I think the seamaster 300m will be one of the safer models, should hold okay, especially if purchased when released in 2018 because they keep upping the price ... especially on the two tone models. The bond appears to be doing really well, maybe because they haven't yet met demand. I own a couple dark side of the moons, and those are not great for retained value, but I love them ... Apollo 8 may hold value okay.

Don’t box it! Don’t flip it! Just wear it!

...would do if I could get hold of one - we’re not all OMEGA VIP’s you know.

My apologies I wasn’t meaning to upset those waiting it was actually a dig at those who want to flip the watch at over inflated levels and at those who buy them and won’t wear and appreciate them.
I do know I have been very fortunate to receive mine and hope everyone who wants to own one can get theirs soon 🙁

Please don’t apologise - I’m the one who should be doing that and I am genuinely chuffed for you; fantastic watch! Besides, and I know many people go on about (whilst accepting this is a watch forum!) this, but there are far more important things to worry about at the moment other than fretting about watches - still jealous though! 😁😀👍

Did you borrow it from the Queen?

Congrats on getting your watches - love seeing people posting about receiving them. More of this please, it brings us hope!

I think about the watch all the time, hilariously I sold a bit of my crypto to pay for it, which now would be worth over $50,000 - so as much as it's tempting to kick myself, I've just decided that I won't ever sell the piece - as even if I was the type to flip it, it would only crystallize the loss!

Coincidentally, as of today, it is the most expensive watch in my collection (!), and also the only one I don't physically have. That day will come, sometime in the expected 2 years, at which point who knows - this watch could still have turned out to be a bargain!

Yeah, it's been ridiculous, in Canada at least. I paid just over CAD 4k from my AD when they came out; now they're over 7k and much harder to find without waiting, let alone buy with generous discounts. Oh well. I guess the odd bit of good timing can count against all the losses we rack up as watch enthusiasts.

Back OT, my AD is now suggesting tho those on the deposit list that we should now expect our Snoopy in Q4 2021/ Q1 2022, so we're now firmly into ever-receding horizon territory. Mine may be considered vintage before I get the chance to strap it on...

I'm expecting that by the time I can put a deposit down on a Snoopy, the RRP will have gone up 20% 🤬

I don't know how this works, but I assume that when delivery finally occurs, we will pay the RRP at that time, and not the price when we put down a deposit.

Not really. It depends where you are located. In US I payed the full price plus taxes for the watch.
It's considered as if you are actually buying the piece.
Not subject to any modification in price.

Yes, that makes sense - you bought it. On the other hand, I just put down a 5K deposit at a U.S OB back in September, so I'll probably get the benefit of the price upon delivery.

that would be truly annoying. They shouldn't modify the price...
But they can do whatever they want, I guess.

My AD charges the price at the time with a balance to pay on the receipt post deposit so I guess it depends who you are with.

Agreed - and given most of these pieces will go to boutiques that will likely be the case for most
