If it's going to be another "expensive" watch, maybe better to pay that amount of money for an early 2003 or 2015 Snoopy version !
Sadly, it might be cheaper to buy the 50th since the 2003 is now pushing upper $10k US and I’ve seen the 2015 as high as upper $30k’s on chrono24.

Although no news to date since (total silence), yet my family and I have separately reserved (no deposits needed) 3 pieces with OB in total, third piece (at 8th position in the queue) is uncertain (ie delivery cannot be promised by OB) and this was in April..

That’s what I mean by inconsistent. My OB required a hefty deposit and were only contacting specific people. I’m not sure what the criteria they used since I had only purchased the 2015 snoopy from them. I didn’t even bother asking for a second piece since I’d have to put out another $7k. My guess it would have been denied. That’s amazing that an OB would allow you to get 3 pieces with no deposit. You must have some pull there!

actually i did minimal purchases with 3 pcs in the past including one by a friend, but they have seen some of my other pieces (including an aventurine blue ceramic that I made elsewhere just in the same period I bought from them. Plus the wish list for them of their catalogue ). The coming 3 pcs are in different names (and contact phones). The ADs - they basically said no (a couple mentioned for their boss' VIP only as they received so few pcs from OMEGA going by their A11 50A and other experience).

Am I the only one who’s not excited? 😗
definitely no. for example I have several Rolex friends, none is. But if this piece ever reach stratosphere, it will likely be beyond your liking even further. Just saying.

I asked my AD to add me to the list for an A13 50th last year but this is not going to be that, so assuming that a watch is announced on 5th October and the price is around £7500 - £7750 then I'm interested (subject to liking the design) otherwise I will pass.

A small update. I got emailed yesterday by the OB and told further that there is a 5k refundable deposit for the watch.

So what did you do?

The beer virus-wrecked part of my logical brain is wary about putting down a 5k deposit. I told them I would stop by next week and ask more questions regarding their deposit process. Do they actually charge your credit card at the time of the deposit or just have your information down and then will charge you once the watch is released/in stock? Does anyone have experience with this process?

Sorry no experience with OB's, my deposit is 250 at an AD in NL, leftover from the Apollo 11 waitinglist which I got sooner somewhere else. I recall from this thread they charge it but being fully refundable it's ok.

there are differences with OB in different countries; where i live, there was a 30% refundable immediate charge using credit card with A11 50A(the watch took many months to reach me).

In the US, the boutiques will charge your credit card. It is not a hold. Your monthly statement will reflect that. You are basically giving them an interest-free loan. If you change your mind, they will refund to your credit card. 5k is a small amount considering we had to put down the full amount for the Apollo 11 50th and the Ed White several months ahead of the deliveries.

I also think they could make an effort with the box and work on it.

They already use the large box for the 321 plat and the 321 steel.
🤔
I believe the 2003 " Eyes on the Stars " subdial Snoopy and the 2015 Silver Snoopy came in a special smaller box... so fingers crossed !

you have to add the following:
buyer premium (25% to the auction house) of the final hammer price
1% for loss insurance
taxes
shipment.
at the current bid, this is in excess of US$35K ex taxes
