The first Omega watch I bought was an Omega Speedmaster “Tintin.” Besides from fact that it is a beautiful watch – I was also fascinated by the story and the secretiveness from Omega that was surrounding this special watch – and the uncertainty of how many pieces Omega made of this model.

1,5 years after my purchase I thought it was time for a new watch – so I sold the Tintin!! Big mistake, BIIIIIG mistake… You know - It is with watches like it is with your first love. In Danish we have a saying “Old love does not rust!” So today I got back to my “old love” and got my Tintin.

Now I have peace in my mind again.

So is this a new piece or were you able to get back the original one that you sold?
    Either way, congrats.

No - this one is a different one - a better one. The First one was watch only. The “new”one comes as a full set.

You know years ago, back about 1990... I had the pleasure to own a Rolex GMT
Master 2 with the Jubilee bracelet in SS. With the Red/Blue bezel. Yep. That one. At the time I had also an old favourite. Submariner date that I bought
In 1981. Wore it almost daily. Both were purchased for what we would say today
Is reasonable money. I think at the time the GMT was around $3k Canf.
I also started the reno on an almost 90 year old 2 storey house. You guessed it!
One thing leads to another as they say. Knee bone connected to the toe bone etc.
Hmmm... not really wearing the GMT all that much.
You can guess the rest of the Sad tale. Said GMT Pepsi is now worth much more than it’s cost. Coulda woulda shoulda....
    Still have the Sub.

Yes indeed. Probably at some point I may track one down. It would be a beautiful thing though.

I did the same thing. I was fortunate to recognize my mistake and able to buy another Tin Tin before the prices went crazy.

What would you fellas think would be the definitive Bond Watch for a collection
If you would limit it to one....? Excluding precious metals. Keeping the choice relatively sane.

Oddly, the only watch I have ever re-acquired is the 16710. Let a lovely z serial stick dial go to find a Daytona. Regretted, sold the Daytona and got a 16710 again. Terrific watch with all bezels and both bracelets.

Congrats on getting the tin tin again op!

Congratulations on now having peace of mind and a lovely tin tin .I did something similar with my first Speedy , sold it on to help fund buying a Rolex 16700 back in 99 . Then went about 8 years without another but picked another one up ,& ended up selling it again to help fund buying a SubC date in 2014 . Really missed having a Speedmaster & bought this one last month on a trip to NYC , & I know this one will be staying in the collection . 2D535998-E910-4A74-8D7E-BCE88FA42FB7.jpeg

Good job - I was waiting and waiting for the prices to go down, and they just continued to go up.
