That’s my thought too. The two functions should be independent of each other. And the date should not change until after midnight, not before.

The crown on my co-axial Speedmaster doesn’t move at all. I’ve never heard of one doing so without there being something wrong. I’d take it for warranty service.

I've already explained how this could happen - not related but a jolt can make the date flip if it's in progress. And the tolerance for the date change is +/- 10 minutes of midnight, so it can change from 11:50 PM until 12;10 AM and still be in tolerance. There's nothing wrong with the OP's watch.

Sorry to resurrect a thread here but I started having some issues with my Speedmaster 38 with the same 3330 movement.

1) I fully wind the watch until it meets medium resistance (but sometimes it will meet difficult resistance that I do not want to force).
2) I wear the watch for several days (about 2.5) while the meantime checking the crown to see if it is wound and it alway has the same resistance of being fully wound. Around the 2.5 day mark the crown spins freely again and the watch resumes keeping accurate until it dies again.

Any clue what’s going wrong here? It seems to fully wind up and not accept any more winding until it randomly depletes fully. For what it’s worth, I can hear the rotor making some noise when I move the watch around.
