Hello and thank you again, do I have a question ? Yes , I need help /advise on purchasing a good reliable , inexpensive , snap caseback/ bezel opener/ remover , and crystal press , as i by now realize that outside service is costly , and I do some of it myself , only the basic , wouldn’t want to damage any movement that I have no skill to touch it lol , so please , any suggestion , will be appreciated , good day, kazd
You need to send us better pics but if this watch is as you say, it is worth several thousand USD at least. It is most definitely NOT a watch to practice developing your watchmaking skills on.

Really nice collection.

I am not really good at taking pictures but here are some advice anyway :
  • Avoid group pictures to start with and take them one watch at a time.
  • just get a good light : a natural one, not too direct. Personnally I take mine close by my window by day without direct sunlight of course;
  • Zoom in like 1.5 vs normal 1 as it enables not too have your phone too close to your watch and out of focus
  • & Shoot 😀 straight dial pictures are the best to start before trying to take every angles of the case

Regarding how to open a case, again I am no specialist but I took the Bergeon ball as I thought I couldn't do any harm with one but I do struggle from time to time. I watched some tutos on YT and finally was able to open the ones I needed to. The simpler version is to go and ask your watchmaker. Otherwise you have very expensive professional tools/press that can be bought online but this safe solution is costly.

Can't wait to see your collection with good pictures.

Enjoy your weekend

Thank you for the advise and tips on picture taking, and I do have the Bergeron ball but that only works on screw down casebacks , I need something for the snap on type, as I already scratched two of them slightly, so I stoped trying with the knife type opener, looked on line , found number of openers tor this application in different price ranges , from $50 - 150 , it I have no experiance to decide which one is good , so till I decide to get one and it works . I won’t molest the backs with the knife lol, thank you again , good day , great weekend to too , kazd

It’s a sought after movement. Multichron 12hr EP 40. Sadly your pics are terrible. Is the dial stained or is it shadow? Looks like the case is rough. Better pics in sunlight might be helpful. There used to be a decent website on vintage Gallet. It seems to have vanished with its aquisition by Breitling.
Good morning and great happy Saturday , I’m responding to you suggestion for better pics of my Gallet in day light, so I tried this morning haha, hopefully they are better, again thank you for your previous reply , so, here are the pics , please let me know what’s your opinion from the new possibly better pics, good day , regards, kazd

Thank you , 🤗🌞 trying my best , tried the natural day light as one of the members suggested to me , it seams it’s working , thank you for that advise , and on a top of 80 years old piece of cedar tree stump, not sure if complements the watch here, but, I like it , so from now on , better pictures will be coming hopefully , and yes the daylight works perfect , no distraction like ceiling of desk lamp , good evening and weekend to all , kazd

Excellent shot of a beautiful watch. Some good light and a steady hand go a long way.
