Ĥello there ...just joined this forum and noticed a post from another guyfrom far north Australia. I also live in the same area so ...G,day mate, hows things goin. I have been given a watch that has been sitting in a box for the last 50 odd years. On my internet search I think it was a very sort after watch made in 1958 by Omega. I sent it down to Sydney to a reputable watch service and repair guy to check it out and see what needed to be done make sure the movement was ok, and to do whatever was needed to bring it to top condition. He got back to me and said it is a historical valuable watch and was in very good condition but it would be best to completely disassemble the movement giving it a complete service and see if any parts should be replaced.
I said to go ahead which he did , and now I have received it back and I am happy with the result. All the watch needed was a couple of parts replaced due to a small amount of surface rust and a new plexiglass due to a small crack . Now I have a Seamaster 300 model CK 2913-3 working perfectly but with only 1 problem. It is missing the Bezel and Bezel insert. I could sell it as is or try to find a Bezel but have not been able to at this stage. I have found a guy in France who is very skilled in making a new insert for around the $700 AU mark, however finding the actual Bezel is the realy difficult part. Any advise would be very welcome from anyone who knows the best way for me to go frm here. Thanks. RobtheOz.
