Who certifies vintage Omega specialists? Is this like WOSTEP or an Omega certification?

To the best of my knowledge, there is no such designation. To me this likely means someone who specializes in doing vintage work, and has an Omega parts account, rather than some official designation.

A nice 321 seamaster chrono is at the very top of my list. Only thing I slightly worry about is case size. 35mm is briljant for a dresser, but for a somewhat beafy cased chrono...

A pair of 321s..
Would you be able to post a side by side and/or some other pictures so we could get an idea of relative size compared to that speedy?

That Lemania is a wonderful old thing. I'd love one for the collection, but very few 'nice' ones ever come up for sale, at least here in the UK.

I bought my grandfathers 14364-2 like this last month:

Then had it fully cleaned and serviced and this is the result:

Gorgeous! Only other one I've seen with the coffin markers + non-lumed alpha hands combo outside of the two-sub 320s:

I would rather say that technically it is (as in identical movement).
Commercially the ones supplied to Omega branded watches was not named the same.

By the way, 321 would be named 25xx in Lemania terms. 23xx corresponds to the cal 320.

Cheers!

I know that redialled 321 chronos often lack individual feathers in the tachy arrow - but is this a surefire way of telling them? There are some examples both on Google and in this thread that otherwise appear original. Does anybody know more about this? There are so many variations that it's hard to be sure what's original and what's not.

I don't think so...

What I found that it could be very useful to concentrate on the serifes of the fonts

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serif

Similar to the 60ies Constellations, I think the fonts on the Seamaster Chronos had serifs on the letters and on the numbers...

If you zoom in you will see them

As far as I heard they are quite hard to reproduce

Just a guess would like to hear your thoughts!

Of course most people know that, but for some while I viewed early Seamaster 321's simply as potential donors for ailing speedmasters. Several years ago I bought this and put it in the safe for future need. Then I got a call from the workshop to say they were now swimming in 321 parts, and could fix anything. So this meant I no longer need a "reserve" 321 and so I decided to send this in. I dont know too much about these, but I can tell you its back home, fully serviced for an all in cost of £1600, including the purchase, service - and strap!.

That isnt bad for a guaranteed 321, I know that these seamsters get advertised without history for $3000 - 4000+ but I really dont think they sell. I may not be comparing like for like - there seem to be many references carrying the seamaster name and a Speedmaster era 321.

Instructions were to service, clean the case and give a light polish. Keep original hands and dial, do not refurbish them in any way - apart from removing any loose material.

For some reason the dial shows slightly more yellow than in life. I have much to learn about watch photography.

I would love to see others?

Interesting read.

Dear forum members I would like your help with this 105.005-65 Seamaster with Ref 321 movement. This is currently with the watchmaker undergoing a full service and fully cleaning, but no polishing. I can not find another 105.005 Seamaster Ref.321 with this dial can anyone help me out on this. I am currently awaiting the extract from the Omega Archives but any help would be great.
