Everyone at my office wears apple watches. Personally I can’t stand them, who wants to be constantly peppered with messages and disturbed?

Couldn't agree with you more. And smart watches are just so lacking in character. There's no "soul".

I disagree with a statement. People still do wear watches, some even consider fitness trackers as a watch.

Does the original Apple watch even work now?

Like the first one that they released?
Mine quit almost 2 years ago. Was unbearably slow,. and then the battery expanded and popped off the lcd lol.
I have a series 3 still and it is hanging in there.

I guess that I’m a nobody many times over. I already have an iPhone. I don’t need another one strapped to my wrist.

My son and daughter wear watches, so does my son-in-law. All millennials, also they are getting the vintage bug.

I would like to say. If no one wears watches then why am I changing so many batteries everyday?Maybe a few 100 a month. But like you said nobody wears watches anymore.
Keep it ticking everyone.
What is your response to this statement?

The wear them, just all electronic. I refuse to wear an apple or similar, can’t stand to be bothered all the time.

I get a chuckel when we run out of the house and on our way.
Look at my wrist & it is naked, forgot to toss on a watch....... even though I have reduced the number owned.
I still laugh, 6 months in Switzerland for training and still no watch on wrist or pocket.
Also, in regards to the statement, not true.
If you are in management it is extremely rude to look at your phone for any reason.
They wear watches, you bet.

On the topic of wearing two watches or even multiple watches:
During the 2023 British BAFTA movie awards ceremony, actor Richard Grant wore a white tuxedo and two wrist watches:
Right hand wrist what looked like a Cartier
Left hand wrist what looked like a Breitling chronograph
Richard Grant has one of these heirlooms set to GMT time and the other set to Swasiland-Eswatini time 😉

I’ve noticed that many TV and movie characters wear watches - much more than you see people wearing watches in real life. I wonder what the psychology is behind having a character wear a watch. It makes them more interesting, more nuanced, more real?

If we ignore Apple Watches, the business I work for as wine buyer has more that one watch per staff member, most owned by me, but I have got the ceo from one tag to a tag and a very nice modern Seamaster and one other colleague into vintage Swiss in an early 50s Omega
I’ll keep working on it this end, I promise, so long as you keep working on it from yours

True, but even outside of the Hamilton marketing machine, and high-end watch ambassadors, a lot of TV/movie characters wear watches. Many seem to be fake prop watches - not that I’m an expert or have studied it closely
