no stop to winding the crown

There does not seem te be a stop to the winding of the crown of My 2004, speedmaster pro (special 35th ann. panda dial). Normally the winding is stopped/blocked after a while. Since yesterday I can continue winding it. However, I wonder if that is a sound thing to do. Any suggestions or explanations? Since it used to run very well and in time, I did not plan to have it serviced. I only wear this watch a couple of days every month.

+1 .... mainspring blues ...

possible that it "tore loose" in the barrel - if the watch still runs - you will most likely find a dramatically reduced power reserve ...

check back with what you find - but yes, a pitstop is inevitable

Maybe it isn't a broken mainspring..... maybe it has a special mainspring and a 123,000 hour power reserve.

But then we have to wait a long time to find out 😕

You might just be planning on having it serviced! Replacing the mainspring in your Speedmaster is not the relatively simple job that it is on a typical manual winder! I doubt there's a watchmaker that would undertake replacing the mainspring on one of these, without doing a complete servicing while they are at it.

Clearly your watch is broken, you should sell it to me immediately, I will be generous and take it off your hands 😁
