·Apologies ignore my comment I see now the new explorer is 36 rather than 39. Which explain why it has shot up in value.

Also just wondering I actually prefer the OP36 to the explorer. It seems very similar besides the 3.6.9 indices. Anyone else prefer either over the other for any reason?

I really hate that they discontinued the 39mm. I've been trying to get one for over a year now from several AD's and no one had any stock the whole time. I figured this would happen. Oh well, time to look elsewhere . Because I can't wear a 36mm. Or rather, I don't want to!

Most obvious is the lineage of the Explorer, but you also have the bracelet double lock & 5mm micro adjust, you get the highly legible Mercedes hands, and the flat bezel.
Also it appears to my eye from the pictures that the new Explorer has a different case profile than the 36mm OP, you can tell by the lugs alone. The Explorers are thinner/more traditional to Rolex.
Same for me, but 7 months wait from two ADs and nothing. I will reserve judgement on the 36mm version and keep an open mind, but I tried the recent DJ36 on, and while I could wear it, if felt diminutive, and I even a have smallish (6.5") wrist. Same for the DJ41... I could wear it, but too big. Why can't Rolex make a 38mmm watch?
