Wow... agree with all the previous comments. I guess Petros Protopapas as the head of brand heritage doesn't own any vintage Omegas. The new format looks like Omega cant be bothered with their vintage heritage unless its a new limited edition rehash of our pieces.

With the old extract there was a sense of theatre. A big envelope opened to reveal a sexy red folder, opening the string and tring not to destroy the seal.....this is a bit like a Christmas card

Good thing last time Omega posted 2 of the same extracts to me so now I have a spare red folder/ envelop to put the new format EoA card into. Just ordered one let see how it will take.

Funny thing is that after 3 months of waiting I sent an email saying why took so long, and the customer service guy immediately responsed after 2 days that we posted another one for you. Those 2 arrived within the same week.

While I don't particularly like the new look of the extracts, I guess there is an advantage to the new system 'cause 2998 extracts be flying in! 馃榿
2998-1:

May I ask how long these took to reach you from the day you ordered them?

Well this past weekend I made a special trip to the nearest Omega Boutique here in Chicago with my 145.022-68 Speedmaster hoping to start the Extract process on it. I spoke to a sales associate and mentioned that I was interested in the Extract service, he then went in back to check with someone. And came back to inform me they are not doing them at the moment and that I needed to do it online due to Omega moving museums or something of the sort.

I was under the impression from this thread that US based customers cannot do them online and we need to go to an Omega Boutique. Has any other US based customers been successful getting the Extract recently from an Omega Boutique? Kind of got the feeling maybe he didn't want to be bothered with it.

Absolutely. Plus with all of this legal verbiage right at at the top... It seems like Omega is now more concerned about covering their ass (from what exactly? I don't know...) than giving me the info I requested and paid for about my watch...
I mean, can they at least put all of that legal mambo jumbo on the bottom portion rather than right on top?? 馃う

I agree, that should be at the bottom with the actual details from the extract in a larger print above.

It's like sitting down in the cinema to watch a thriller and one of the staff coming in at the start of the action saying to the audience that you should remember this is only a movie with actors that are never in any danger and that you should be reminded there is a camera crew immediately in front of the cast at all times throughout filming so please never immerse yourself into the scenes.

Do you mean it wasn't possible before because of the "hole in the archive". Maybe I should try again with my 105-003-63

I was considering an extract for my father-in-law's Seamaster; is this the extent of the information returned?

Spoke to the tech in my Omega Boutique, who showed me an email sent to him from Bienne on the state of abstracts. To paraphrase, apparently in the US Omega does not want their stores to take valuable time away from sales to help vintage watch owners (who will likely not be spending $$$ in the store) deal with forms etc. to get abstracts. They did however say that the plan was late 4th Q 2019 to move the entire abstract system to online, including US. We will see.
